WFMT's long-running weekly radio series, The Midnight Special, hosted by Rich Warren, has gotten the rights to broadcast and stream the original cast recording of the seven-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical COME FROM AWAY in its entirety on Saturday, May 27 during its weekly broadcast between 9:00 pm and 12:00 am CDT. Listeners can tune in to 98.7WFMT or go to wfmt.com/listen to access the live stream.

COME FROM AWAY, by Tony nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein and directed by two-time Tony nominee Christopher Ashley, is based on the true story of 38 planes landing in Gander, Newfoundland, September 11, 2001 because of the closure of American airspace. It brings to life in song the tales of some of the 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.
