Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today, along with Broadway In Chicago, that the first national tour of Billy Elliot the Musical, the 2009 Tony Award-winning Best Musical featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, will now play its final performance in Chicago on Sunday, November 28th at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph Street). Now entering its final six weeks, Billy Elliot to date has performed to over 365,000 people and grossed $27 million dollars (through October 17).

"On behalf of my fellow producers and the entire production team, I am grateful to the wonderful city for welcoming our show. We appreciate the opportunity to have shared Billy Elliot with the seasoned theatergoers of Chicago," said Eric Fellner, a producer of the show.

After 37 weeks and 288 performances, the first national tour of Billy Elliot will leave Chicago and will next be presented in Toronto, beginning Saturday, January 29, 2011, followed by the San Francisco engagement, where performances will begin on Tuesday, September 13, 2011.

Tickets are on sale now for the final six weeks. Individual tickets range in price from $30 to $100. A select number of premium seats are also available. Patrons who have purchased tickets for performances after November 28 should contact their point of purchase. Billy Elliot will make every effort to accommodate all patrons, through their point of purchase, including exchanges into the finAl Weeks of the production. Changes must be made prior to November 7. Tickets are available at all Broadway In Chicago Box Offices (24 W. Randolph St., 151 W. Randolph St. and 18 W. Monroe St.), the Broadway In Chicago Ticket Line at (800) 775?2000, all Ticketmaster retail locations (including Hot Tix and select Carson Pirie Scott, Coconuts and fye stores), and online at www.BroadwayInChicago.com. Rush tickets ($25) go on?sale at 10 a.m. the day of each performance (11 a.m. on Sundays). A minimum of twelve (12) seats to as many as forty (40) are available at the Ford Center/Oriental Theatre box office (24 W. Randolph) only. Additional seats, subject to availability at select performances, may be made available day?of show at the box office or online at www.BroadwayInChicago.com. Limit two (2) tickets per patron; seats are limited view.

Billy Elliot the Musical, the show that Time Magazine calls "The Best Musical of the Decade," is the joyous celebration of one boy's journey to make his dreams come true. Set in a small town, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising talent that inspires his family and his whole community and changes his life forever. Based on the international smash-hit film, Billy Elliot the Musical is brought to life by the Tony-winning creative team - director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling and writer Lee Hall - along with music legend Elton John, who has written what the New York Post calls "His Best Score Yet!"

Billy Elliot the Musical, winner of ten 2009 Tony Awards, is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Jon Finn and Sally Greene. Angela Morrison and David Furnish are Executive Producers. The production features scenic design by Ian MacNeil, the associate director is Julian Webber, costume design by Nicky Gillibrand, lighting design by Rick Fisher and sound design by Paul Arditti. Musical supervision and orchestrations are by Martin Koch.
