Artemisia, A Chicago Theatre's annual Fall Festival of Staged Readings will be held September 20 & 21 and September 27 & 28 at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church, 925 W. Diversey in Chicago. Performances are at 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday nights and at 2:00 PM on Saturday afternoons. Admission is free and walk-ins and donations are encouraged. Reservations are available beginning August 1, 2013, at artemisiatheatre.org. From these readings, the festival audience will choose their favorite play, which Artemisia will fully produce late fall of 2014.

From more than five-hundred submissions, six plays were chosen for this year's festival and represent work by international writers: Soldier's Heart, by Tammy Ryan, Tyler Family Portrait, by Allison Brown, Chewing on Beckett, by Ed Proudfoot, Art Appreciation by Benjamin Dean, Green Whales, by Lia Romeo, and Belfast Girls, by Jaki McCarrick. Belfast Girls was developed at The National Theatre Studio in London in 2012.
