CPCC Summer Theatre kicks off 2011 season with "Hello, Dolly!" Area actors to perform Tony award-winning musical on Halton Theater stage

WHAT: CPCC Summer Theatre, Charlotte's only professional summer stock theatre, is pleased to kickoff its 38th season with the Tony award-winning musical "Hello, Dolly!" on June 3.

Set during the turn of the 20th century in New York, "Hello, Dolly!" follows the matchmaking adventures of Dolly Levi. A widow, Dolly falls in love with a "half a millionaire" named Horace Vendergelder. Chaos ensues as she proceeds to weave a web of romantic complications that involve him, his two clerks, and a pretty milliner and her assistant. Eventually, of course, all is sorted out and everyone ends up with the right person.

This production will star Deborah Rhodes as Dolly Levi, Charles LaBorde as Horace Vandergelder, Andy Faulkenberry as Cornelius Hackl, Ashton Guthrie as Barnaby Tucker, Sarah Henkel as Mrs. Malloy and Cassadra Howley Wood as Minnie Fay. Don't miss this opportunity to support local theatre and hear the production's most classic songs, such as "Put on Your Sunday Clothes," "It Only Takes a Moment" and "Hello, Dolly!"
