Co-Founders Abby Felder and Robbie Jaeger announce that Asheville Creative Arts' (ACA) Third Season will launch with THE TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS!, with script and lyrics by Robert Kauzlaric, music by Paul Givalry and William Rush, adapted from THE TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith; followed by MISS NELSON IS MISSING! with book, music, and lyrics by Joan Cushing, based upon the book MISS NELSON IS MISSING! And MISS NELSON IS BACK! By Harry Allard. Both shows will be directed and choreographed by Robbie Jaeger, and THREE LITTLE PIGS will include puppets by Abby Felder. THE TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS! will run Feb 26-Mar 1, 2015, and MISS NELSON IS MISSING! will run July 16-26, 2015 at NC Stage (15 Stage Lane).

THE TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS! invites the whole family to learn the wolf's side of the story in a hilarious rock musical format. Alexander T. Wolf (aka the big bad wolf) is accused of deplorable crimes. Audiences become a jury of his piggy peers and in the end everyone must decide: guilty or not guilty?

According to The New York Times, MISS NELSON IS MISSING! is "a musical that will charm anyone who has ever sat in front of a schoolteacher's desk - or, for that matter, behind it." In this classic, the students of Room 207 are in for a surprise when their long suffering teacher, Miss Nelson, turns up missing and is replaced by Viola Swamp, a scary substitute. In desperation, the students set out to find their beloved Miss Nelson... but will they ever get her back?

ACA's work has been called "Dazzling!" by the Mountain Xpress and "Excellent!" by the Asheville Citizen Times, and both productions will continue the company's signature style of creating theatre that is as enjoyable to parents as it is to their children, which was established with previous hits, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD and CHARLOTTE'S WEB.

"THREE LITTLE PIGS has a clever script and catchy score, coupled with some moments of really fun audience participation, with an aesthetic inspired by the beautiful illustrations and cheeky text of the source book," says ACA Artistic Director, Robbie Jaeger. "MISS NELSON was and continues to be a staple of story time, with a great of underlying message of kindness and respect," adds ACA Producing Director Abby Felder.

Both performances will once again be presented at NC Stage, Asheville's professional theater venue, as part of their Catalyst Series that provides marketing, administrative and technical support. THREE LITTLE PIGS features a cast of professional actors: Jordan Ellis, Glenn T. Griffin, Gina Jones and Katy Shepherd. The production team includes musical direction by Jonesalee, costume design by Robbie Jaeger; props by Chifferobe Home and Garden; and from New York City, set designer Gian Marco Lo Forte. Cast and creative team for MISS NELSON will be announced in 2015.

Tickets for THREE LITTLE PIGS are $12 (students and groups of 10 or more); and $23 (adults). For the first time, ACA will offer two special weekday matinee performances 2/26 and 2/27 at 10am for elementary school students, which include a study guide created by honorary advisor Lucy Hazlehurst designed in accordance with Common Core Arts Learning benchmarks.
