YLT Sets Summer Theatre Camps

York Little Theatre will conduct a variety of youth theatre camps this summer including performances at the conclusion of the camps. A professional staff is ready to take children to other lands through the magic of theatre.

Camps include Disney's CAMP ROCK The Musical (Ages 5-12) June 29-July 3, STAGE MAKEUP & WIGS (Ages 8 & up) July 6-10, Disney's CINDERELLA KIDS (Ages 5-12) July 13-17, ALADDIN KIDS (Ages 5-12) July 20-24 and ANNIE KIDS (Ages 5-12) July 27-31. Camp Descriptions:

Disney's CAMP ROCK - Ages 5-12
June 29-July 3
Disney's Camp Rock: The Musical, is a combination of The Disney Channels Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. It will thrill you with favorite songs including "This Is Me," "Can't Back Down," "It's On," and "We Rock." Disney's Camp Rock: The Musical has many featured roles. Whether you are a singer, actor, dancer, or triple threat, there is an opportunity to shine in this high-energy camp! Kids arrive at Camp Rock ready to have the time of their lives! No experience is required to join the adventures of a Summer Music Camp with lots of favorite music and dance!

STAGE MAKE-UP AND WIGS - Ages 8 & Up
July 6-10
An introductory hands-on study of the materials and techniques used in stage makeup and wig design. Upon completion of this course, each student will have the opportunity to assist the makeup crew for a theatrical production.

Disney's CINDERELLA Kids - Ages 5-12
July 13-17
Calling all princesses! Disney's CINDERELLA brings this timeless fairy tale to life with this treasured story and beautiful songs. There are roles for boys and girls and no previous experience is required. There are also narrators to help in sharing the story during the performance at the end of the week. Songs include "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and the classic "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo". CINDERELLA reminds us that dreams really can come true!

Disney's ALADDIN Kids - Ages 5-12
July 20-24
Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment and the fantastic tale of the street rat who became a prince! All of your favorite characters from the hit Disney film - Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more - are here in this musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides including favorite songs such as "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me." There are roles for boys and girls and no previous experience is required.

ANNIE Kids - Ages 5-12
July 27-31
Leapin' Lizards! The comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals. Little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil plan and ultimately finds a new home and family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Get ready to sing familiar numbers like "It's the Hard Knock Life" and "Tomorrow." There are roles for boys and girls and no previous experience is required.
