Playwright and Director, William W. Adams, demonstrates "Thinking Local" in every aspect of bringing his two one-act plays to life on the Ware Center stage on Friday, September 4 at 7:30 pm in downtown Lancaster. "Two to Move You" is two one act plays including "Bound" which reveals how three neighbors discover the common experiences that have unexpectedly bound them, and followed by "I'm Still Here" a one-woman drama featuring actor, Anne Meeder, telling the story of Julie Jennings' personal grit and survival after several life setbacks. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.

These performances are all about using the deep reservoir of local artistic talent, as well as utilizing a local venue and resources in Lancaster. Consider the four actors in these two plays:

· Mona Frey is the nurse manager of a secure dementia unit.

· Sam Mecum, a Manheim Township Commissioner, has practiced law for more than 40 years.

· Anne Meeder is the Assistant to the Managing Director of the Fulton Theatre.

· Joanna Underhill is the Assistant Director of the Philadelphia Alumni Writers House at Franklin & Marshall College.

The playwright, William W. Adams, a retired chairman and president of Armstrong World Industries, has been attracted for years to fine drama - by Britain's Royal Shakespeare Company, on Broadway, at Center Stage Theater in Baltimore, the Fulton Theater and the Ephrata Performing Arts Center. His first play, "Warsaw" was presented in 2013 at the Ware Center. However, its actual first performance was a private reading, in the fourth floor space at the Fulton Theatre where an audience of ten and the cast itself then critiqued the play and "vastly improved it ," says Adams.

"Lancaster offers playwrights such as myself, Chet Williamson and Jack Hughlett venues where our scripts come to life on stage in front of audiences who want to experience new dramas. We don't have to go to Philadelphia, Baltimore or Wilmington to get our works produced. We have great local venues like the Ware Center, the Winter Center, the Ephrata Performing Arts Center, Tellus 360 and numerous smaller venues," explains Bill Adams.

Proceeds from the September 4 show will be shared to support the Arts at Millersville University and the M-Uth Theater Group, created and directed by Barry Kornhauser. This is a program that brings at-risk teens together to create a theater production, which is then staged for the public. This summer's production tackled the subject of youth suicide.

Tickets for "Two to Move You" are $10 general admission and can be purchased online by visiting ArtsMU.com or by calling 717-871-7600. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Ticket Office located in the Student Memorial Center on Millersville's campus, or the Ware Center, located at 42 N. Prince Street, in Lancaster.
