Dan Kamin has officially been recognized as one of the foremost authorities on Charlie Chaplin. He taught Robert Downey, Jr. his physical chops for his Oscar-nominated turn in the movie "Chaplin" and most recently was a "Chaplin consultant" with the La Jolla Playhouse production of the musical "Chaplin," which just finished a run on Broadway.

Tonight, February 22, 7:30 PM The Ware Center presents Dan Kamin's "Funny Bones: The Comedy of Charlie Chaplin". In this unique hybrid of entertainment and education, Kamin will deconstruct the work of the comic genius with film clips, live demonstrations of physical comedy, and lots of audience participation. The centerpiece of the evening will be a classic Chaplin short with live, original guitar accompaniment by Jordan Rast.

On Saturday, February 23, 11:00 AM The Ware Center's FAM FUN FEST series will also showcase Dan Kamin in "Comedy in Motion" - this program specifically is aimed at kids and their parents or caretakers. Kamin, who taught comedy mime moves to Johnny Depp (Benny and Joon), presents a performance of astonishing movement illusions, amazing sleight-of-hand magic and hilarious stories without words.

Both programs are suitable for audiences of all ages. The Saturday morning program will also feature Barry Kornhauser-created pre-show hands-on fun for the kids focusing specifically around "Comedy in Motion," a take-home play activity guide and light refreshments.
