Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, announces casting for their upcoming winter production of The Diary Of Anne Frank, directed by Karen Land and their 9th Annual Gala Concert Hooray For Hollywood, directed by Chad-Alan Carr. Tickets are now on sale to all shows and can be purchased online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or by calling 717-334-2692 with credit card, or by visiting the box office with cash, check or credit card during box office hours 2-7pm Tuesdays-Fridays at GCT. Tickets are selling fast to all shows so order in advance.

The very touching and emotional drama, The Diary Of Anne Frank, performs at 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays running February 17-March 5, 2017. Limited reserved seating $18 plus tax/fees. The cast includes Brenna Yingling of Hanover as the young Jewish girl Anne Frank, George Muschamp of Gettysburg and Joan Crooks of Westminster play her parents Otto and Edith Frank, while Lizzie Pellegrino of Gettysburg plays her sister Margot Frank. Brandon Gladfelter of Gettysburg plays Peter van Daan, while Linda Fink of Gettysburg and James Hamilton of Littlestown play his parents Mr. & Mrs. Van Daan. Also in the cast are Jilly Harris from Lancaster in the role of Miep, Ed Kenney of Gettysburg in the role of Mr. Kraler and Michael Krikorian of Gettysburg in the role of Dussel. The play is being directed by Karen Land and stage managed by Shane Miller, both of Gettysburg.

In this transcendently powerful new adaptation for a new generation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with astonishing honesty, wit, and determination. An impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, The Diary Of Anne Frank captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence-their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Each day of these two dark years, Anne's voice shines through: "When I write I shake off all my cares. But I want to achieve more than that. I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met. I want to go on living even after my death!"

GCT's Founding Executive/Artistic Director, Chad-Alan Carr, will once again direct and lead a professional concert for GCT's 9th Annual Gala to be held Saturday, March 18th at the Gettysburg College Union Ballroom. The doors open at 6:30pm to a red carpet event with delicious food stations, an open bar, silent and live auctions, dancing, and a concert of Hollywood music. The concert is performed by The Keating Jazz Orchestra with soloist singers that GCT has gathered that are all residents or alumni of Gettysburg and include: Hayley Briner, Misty Coy Snyder, Marilyn Lopes, Megan Lee Miller, Kate Sainer, and Carrie Trax, along with dozens of children and adults of all ages from GCT.
