My Favorite Year will be an outstanding, unforgettable performance for both the audience and co-directors Steve Doud and Arlo Ehly. This full-scale musical production will keep the audience laughing as the cast transports everyone back to the year 1954 to highlight the times of Benjy Stone, a freshman writer on TV's King Kaiser Comedy Cavalcade. Benjy is assigned the daunting task of babysitting veteran Hollywood swashbuckler Alan Swann while he makes a guest appearance on the show. What follows is both hysterical and heartwarming! This production will be one for the books, as it is the final co-directed production by director and founding member Steve Doud and musical director Arlo Ehly.

Since 1998, Arlo Ehly has been involved with DreamWrights from being a member to being a Summer Camp attendee, a cast member, on the Board of Directors, on the Board Development Committee and, as of 2009, DreamWright's musical director. He has been involved specifically with the teen musical productions since their inception in 2007.

"I have greatly enjoyed my collaboration with Steve and Katie, our choreographer, and will greatly miss our work together," said Ehly.

DreamWrights' executive director Ann Davis has seen the positive impact of Ehly's presence at DreamWrights through his collaboration with the participants, the families and the staff. She has also had the opportunity to watch Ehly's passion for theatre and the arts grow over the years.

"Arlo has been such a pleasure to have at our theatre and will do great things as he takes on new opportunities," said Davis. "It is my hope that he'll return to DreamWrights and be back among the ranks of directors and board members one day."

My Favorite Year will be a testament to all Ehly has gained from his years with DreamWrights, including his passion for theatre and the arts, which led him to pursue a bachelor's degree in music education from Susquehanna University.

"My theatre career began [at DreamWrights] at a very early age, and it has stuck with me ever since," said Ehly. "I've always been inspired by the ways in which all [DreamWright's staff] have embodied the mission of education. I think the programs they have created are unique in that so many of them are multigenerational and encourage participation of all ages."

The quality of and talent shown in this production is not to be missed; it's a must-see performance! General admission tickets for My Favorite Year are available for $8.00 and reserved seating tickets are available for $12.00. To order, visit www.dreamwrights.org or call 717-848-8623.
