60 kids from 11 different school districts come together this week to perform in Gettysburg Community Theatre's Penguin Project production of Disney's High School Musical.

What makes this program different? All of the lead roles and half of the cast are youth with special needs/disabilities ages 8-21. The other half of the cast are their peer mentors of same age (without special needs) that are helping them on stage to shine for their big moments in the show.

Down Syndrome, CP, Autistic, ADHD, and other physical and cognitive disabilities are within the cast of this show, but just as penguins are special needs birds that can not fly but thrive equally as well as any other bird in their own environment, the Gettysburg Community Theatre penguins may not be able to fly but they truly soar on stage through the joy and therapy of musical theatre!

Directed by GCT Founding Executive/Artistic Director, Chad-Alan Carr, the performances are May 8th at 7pm and May 9th at 2pm at Hanover HS Auditorium.$12 General Admission tickets can be ordered online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or over the phone with credit card at 717-334-2692 or at the Hanover High School Auditorium two hours before the show. The Hanover High School Auditorium is located at 401 Moul Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
