She's a feisty artist, willing to make a stand and she's rigged her second story brownstone in Brooklyn with homemade Molotov cocktails to try and force her kids to recognize that she's still capable of living on her own. She'd rather blow up the whole block than move into some kind of 'assisted living facility'.
Rhinebeck Writers Retreat to Host 17 Writers, Featuring Obie, Larson & Kleban Award Winners
(5/21/2015) - Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the 17 writers and 8 new musicals selected for the fifth summer of weeklong retreats. For eight consecutive weeks beginning July 5th, each writing team will have a residency in Rhinebeck, New York. Writers are provided a private home, transportation, food, and a $400 stipend. This year's writers include Obie winner Kirsten Childs, Tony nominee Elizabeth Davis, and 2015 Jonathan Larson award-winners Charlie Sohne, Tim Rosser, and Sam Willmott, who also just won the Kleban Prize.
Glimmerglass Festival Receives Funding for 2015 Season, New Initiatives
(5/21/2015) - The Glimmerglass Festival has announced it is the recent recipient of five grants for special purposes. The company celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and these awards will help the company continue its commitment to new productions of American and rare works, expand its community engagement endeavors and assist in making capital improvements to portions of the theater.
UPDATE: The Phantom Is Finally Coming To America- LOVE NEVER DIES Will Tour US in 2017; Statement Released
(5/19/2015) - BroadwayWorld has just learned that the Phantom will soon return to America in the continuation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most beloved musical. Love Never Dies is set to tour North America in 2017. This is the highly acclaimed follow up musical to the 1986 love story The Phantom of the Opera set against the spellbinding backdrop of Coney Island. A German production is also set to open in Hamburg this fall.

Syracuse Stage Announces Change in Leadership

CRT's Box Office Opens Monday
(5/15/2015) - The Cortland Repertory Theatre Box Office is open for all ticket sales starting on Monday, May 18th. The Box Office is located at 24 Port Watson Street in downtown Cortland, and is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays from noon - 6:00 PM. Once performances begin at the Little York Pavilion, the Box Office at that location is open from 6:00 - 7:30 and 11:00 - 2:00 on performance evenings only.

CRT to Host 'Cortland Rep Kids' Summer Camps

Cortland Repertory Theatre Opens CRT Downtown with BUDDY This Weekend
(5/8/2015) - After five years of fund raising and major renovations, Cortland Repertory Theatre has announced the grand opening of 'CRT Downtown', their new theatrical venue at 24 Port Watson Street in downtown Cortland. The grand opening starts with a concert by the Buddy Holly Tribute Band 'The Rave-Ons', featuring Todd Meredith, the star of CRT's productions of 'Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story' and 'Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash'. The concerts will be held tonight, May 8th and tomorrow, May 9th at 7:30.
