(10/24/2014) - To remember and honor our dear friend and colleague, actor Norma Fire, Kitchen Theatre Company will present an annual award, the Norma Fire Emerging Artist Award. This award will go to a young theater artist age 30 or younger whose work in the previous season was exemplary and demonstrated great professional potential. The young theater artist may be an actor, director, playwright or designer.

(10/24/2014) - The Hangar's Acting Out on the Hangar Stage, Community Charades Challenge took place on Saturday, October 18. With the support of the community - through donations to four teams of participants, the purchase of auction items, and ticket sales - the Hangar was able to reach its fundraising goal for the event, which supports the theatre's educational programming, raising a total of $26,000. (10/23/2014) - The Syracuse Stage Guild is proud to be hosting the 2014 gathering of CAVORT Inc. (Conference About Volunteers of Regional Theatre) this weekend, October 23-25. This national, multi-day event will feature presentations and discussions with senior administrators and arts advocates from Syracuse Stage, Syracuse University, and Central New York. The keynote speaker is Bob Moss, former artistic director at Syracuse Stage and founder of Playwrights Horizons in New York City.

Lonely Planet tells the story of two friends, Jody and Carl, who use their wit and sense of absurdity to negotiate the turbulent world at the height of the AIDS crisis.
