Sondheim Unplugged, New York's long-running hit revue, will make a special, one night only appearance in Putnam County on Sunday, September 25th at 7pm at the Philipstown Depot Theatre, located on Garrison's Landing in Garrison, NY. Tickets, $20, may be obtained by visiting www.brownpapertckets.com or by calling 1.800.838.3006. Notably, the Philipstown Depot Theatre, a former train station, and the surrounding area is where the Yonkers scenes for the film, Hello, Dolly! were filmed.

SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED features an array of Broadway and New York cabaret's most dynamic performers, celebrating the work of the theatre's most beloved and prolific composer, accompanied by piano only. The series debuted in July of 2010 (in celebration of Sondheim's 80th birthday), at New York's Laurie Beechman Theatre, where it has been running ever since. At Sondheim Unplugged, audiences can expect to hear music from the composer's most beloved works from the stage, film and television, including A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park with George, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Pacific Overtures, Sweeney Todd, Follies, Passion, Anyone Can Whistle, Dick Tracy, Evening Primrose, Reds and many more.

At this special performance, Sondheim Unplugged is thrilled to welcome special guest Sarah Rice, who created the role of Johanna in the original Broadway production of Sweeney Todd. The cast for this performance also includes ERIC Michael GillETT (Broadway's Sweet Smell of Success, Kiss Me Kate, The Frogs), Julie Reyburn (2011 Manhattan Association of Cabarets winner, Outstanding Major Female Vocalist) and Lucia Spina (Broadway's South Pacific, Legally Blonde, Les Miserables, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). The show is hosted by Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will fill the audience in on special Sondheim tidbits concerning the creation of each work, as well as the composer's life. Musical Direction is by Ray Fellman.

The Philipstown Depot Theatre is accessible BY CAR - four miles north of the Bear Mountain Bridge off route 9D - Garrison Landing. Parking is available in the Metro North lot.
