A Moon for the Misbegotten, the comic drama by Eugene O'Neill, opens April 13 for three weekends at the MuCCC Theater, before heading off to Ireland for the 2012 Acting Irish InterNational Theatre Festival (AIITF). The Irish Players of Rochester program of the Rochester Community Players has staged an annual Irish play each Spring. Last year, production, Dublin Carol, was the 'Best Production' at the 2011 AIITF in Calgary, Canada, and John Jaeger won 'Best Performance by a Leading Male Actor' awards at that festival.

Jaeger directed our Shakespeare Players production of The Merchant of Venice last Fall, and returns to the stage in A Moon for thge Misbegotten as Phil Hogan. Joining Jaeger is Stephanie Roosa as Josie Hogan, Greg Ludek as Jim Tyrone, Ken Dauer as Mike Hogan, and Tom Bohr as T. Stedman Harder. Roosa directed our 2011 Free Shakespeare at the Highland Bowl production of Othello; Ludek has been in many productions around town, including our 2004 production of Waiting for Godot, Bohr has been in many of our Irish Players and Shakespeare Players productions, including Much Ado About Nothing at the Bowl in 2010 and The Cripple of Inishmaan in 2010; and Dauer has appeared in every one of our Shakespeare at the Bowl productions since 1998. The production is directed by Jean Gordon Ryon, who has directed all of our Irish Players productions the past ten years, including last year's award-winning Dublin Carol. The show is produced by Peter Scribner, founder of The Irish Players program and President of the Rochester Community Players.
