The Red House Arts Center in Syracuse, NY presents the Pulitzer Prize winning play CRIMES OF THE HEART, written by Beth Henley and directed by Jenn DeCook, as parts of its LAB Series December 11-13.

CRIMES OF THE HEART centers on the return of three sisters to their small Mississippi hometown, all of whom have grave (yet somehow hilarious) troubles: One is quickly becoming an old maid, one returns home from her failed singing career, and one is on bail after having shot her husband. All learn to escape the past in order to seize the future.

The LAB Series at Red House Arts Center provides professional training opportunities to high school, college and community members looking to gain experience in the performing arts, as well as the field(s) of production design and technical execution. LAB productions take place in a black box style theater space and frequently feature emerging artists.

The cast of CRIMES OF THE HEART features Michaela Oney, Erin Lafferty, and Erin Huiett as the three sisters, Krystal Scott as their cousin "Chick," David Simmons as "Doc," and Andrew Metz as "Barnette," a vengeful, love-sick lawyer. Set construction is by Todd DeCook, costume coordination by Krystal Scott and Katharine Tarkulich, graphic design by Keirsten Burrows, and stage management by Peter Dowling.

CRIMES OF THE HEART will be presented December 11 and 12 at 8:00PM and December 13 at 2:00PM. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased online at www.theredhouse.org, by phone at (315) 362-2785, or at the door. The Red House Arts Center is located at 201 S. West St. in Syracuse, NY. Parking is available adjacent to and across from the theater, as well as nearby in Armory Square.
