Penguin Rep Theatre presents Rounding Third, a comedy by Richard Dresser, Friday, October 14 through Sunday, November 6 at Penguin's intimate, 108-seat theatre in Stony Point (Rockland County), New York, executive director Andrew M. Horn announced today.

The ballfield becomes a battlefield in Richard Dresser's comedy as two fathers bring very different coaching styles to their son's Little League team. "If Oscar Madison and Felix Ungar were to coach Little League together," says Mr. Horn, "you would experience something very much like Rounding Third".

Rounding Third explores the age-old question: Which matters more, winning or how you play the game? As the two men make their own hits, runs, and errors off the field, they forge an unlikely friendship and learn to see the game (and their lives) in new ways.

Playwright Richard Dresser's seventeen published plays have been produced in New York, regional theatres, and Europe. His recently published trilogy of plays about happiness in America includes Augusta (working class), The Pursuit of Happiness (middle class), and A View of the Harbor (upper class). Rounding Third started in Chicago and moved to Off Broadway and has had hundreds of productions.
Under the direction of Stephen Nachamie, the cast of Rounding Third includes: Jon Krupp and P.J. Sosko.
Stephen Nachamie's directorial credits include Luck! with Faith Prince, Into the Woods, Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song Trilogy starring Seth Rudetsky, The Melody Lingers On (Inside Broadway), and Hello Out There at Goodspeed New Artists Festival.
Jon Krupp (Michael)'s stage work includes Lost and Found (Best of Fringe 2010), Going Over (Yale Rep), The Tooth of Crime (Delaware Theatre Company), Man of Mode (Asolo), and the title roles in The Elephant Man (Fulton Opera House) and The Immigrant (Florida Stage).

P.J. Sosko (Don) was previously seen at Penguin Rep in Orphans and A Different Moon. His credits also include: the New York City premiere of Reentry; the world premiere of Allan Knee's The Jazz Age; and performances at Portland Center Stage, The Folger and The Hangar.
The production team for Rounding Third includes designers Ken Larson (set), Charlotte Palmer-Lane (costumes), Colin Whitely (sound), and Todd O. Wren (lighting); and stage manager Eileen Arnold.

Performance days and times for Rounding Third are: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., with matinees on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

Individual tickets are priced at $34 each. Tickets for young people are $20. Discounts are also available for groups of 10 or more. A special reduced-priced weekday matinee performance of Rounding Third is slated for Friday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m., with tickets priced at $17 each.
