Maureen McGovern to Perform CARRY IT ON 8/12-9/14 At Geva Theatre Center

Maureen McGovern will star in the autobiographical show CARRY IT ON at Rochester, New York's GeVa Theatre Center, the theatre has announced on its official website.  The production will run from October 12 to November 14.

The Theatre Center's description of the show reads, 'From her early days as a folk singer in the late 60's, to her Oscar-winning gold records as the "Disaster Theme Queen," Broadway and recording star Maureen McGovern performs a moving musical memoir that chronicles a generation. Songs by the Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon and others are given a fresh rendition against the backdrop of her very personal story.'

The show was written by McGovern and Philip Himberg; Himberg will also direct.  The show will feature musical direction by Jeffrey Harris

Maureen McGovern's stage credits include Broadway's THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE and LITTLE WOMEN, as well as THE SOUND OF MUSIC, SOUTH PACIFIC, and BROWNSTONE.  She has recorded numerous albums and is well-known for her performances of 'The Morning After' from 'The Poseidon Adventure' and 'We May Never Love Like This Again' from 'The Towering Inferno.'
