Matt Cavenaugh and Elena Shaddow will star in the concert "A Broadway Romance," with Symphoria Orchestra in Sryacuse NY - Friday, February 6, 2015 - 7:30 PM at the Crouse-Hinds Concert Theater. Sean O'Loughlin is conducting. The concert is a finely tuned gathering of songs from the Broadway repertoire, including "Tonight", "Somebody, Somewhere", "I Am Loved", and, of course, "Lullaby of Broadway" among many others.

"For a concert strung togetehr from 40-something Broadway tunes, and composers ranging from Cole Porter to Andrew Lloyd Webber, the show holds together because of great rhythm and pacing." The Grand Rapids Press by Juanity Westaby.

The entire concert is arranged and orchestrated by such notable arrangers/orchestrators as Larry Blank, Larry Hochman, Larry Moore and Brad Carroll. Matt Cavenaugh was last see on Broadway as Tony in West Side Story. Other Broadway credits include Grey Gardens, A Catered Affair, and his Broadway debut in Urban Cowboy. Matt has toured the country in productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Ragtime, Grease and Strike Up The Band. Off-Broadway productions include Death Takes a Holiday and Grey Gardens. Notable regional credits: Gigi (LA Reprise); It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman (DTC) A Catered Affair (The Old Globe); Palm Beach (La Jolla Playhouse); Anything Goes (Williamstown Theatre Festival); Carousel (Pittsburgh CLO) among others.

Elena Shaddow orginated the role of Francesca Johnson in the pre-Broadway production of The Bridges of Madison County. On Broadway she starred as Ann Dindon in La Cage aux Folles. Other Broadway credits include The Woman in White, Fidder on the Roof, Nine, Sweet Smell of Success and Les Miserables. Additional credits include Fanny in Fanny (City Center Encores!); The Bacchae (Delacorte Theater); Magnolia Hawkes in Show Boat (Royal Albert Hall, London). National tours includle Clara Johnson in The Light in the Piazza.

Sean O'Loughlin is the Principal Pops Conductor for Symphoria. He is a fresh voice and a rising name in the music world. His music is characterized by vibrant rhythms, passionate melodies, and coloorful scoring. He has led performances with the Boston Pops Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, The Chicago Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, The Vancouver Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony among others. He was the conductor and arranger for the critically acclaiimed symphony tour with Sarah McLachlan. Recent collaborations include such artists as Adele, Josh Groban, Kelly Clarkson, Gloria Estefan, Diana Krall, Itzhak Perlman, Martina McBride, and others.

Symphoria is a fully professional orchestra serving Syracuse and Central New York. Comprised of nearly 50 core musicians, many of whom were members of the former Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. The members are residents of the communities we serve, and are committeed to enhancing the quality of life in the region. Formed in 2012 in partnership with community leeaders, higher education institutions, and the orchestra members, Symphoria operates as a musician cooperative. They offer over fifty full orchestra performances on five diverse concert series, and a robust series of free summer performances.
