Molly Jane Hill will sing the role of Mrs. Lovett in The Glimmerglass Festival's production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd beginning August 15, replacing Luretta Bybee who has withdrawn from the role. The new production runs throughAugust 27 in the Alice Busch Opera Theater in Cooperstown, New York.

Hill, a member of Glimmerglass's Young Artists Program, is currently singing the role of SusAnna Walcott in the company's production of Robert Ward's The Crucible. She recently performed the role of Venus in Orpheus in the Underworld with Virginia Opera, Flora in La traviata with Central City Opera and Eunice Hubbell in A Streetcar Named Desire with Opera Santa Barbara. An alumna of Oklahoma City University and San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Hill was a 2015 district winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

The 2016 Festival runs through August 27 and features mainstage productions of Puccini's La bohème, Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, Rossini's The Thieving Magpie and Robert Ward's The Crucible.
