The original song and dance fable of the Great White Way, 42nd Street, is closing at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse August 17th. Lively, lavish and spectacular; it has everything audiences love about a Broadway musical.

Julie Kavanagh stars as Peggy Sawyer, a girl with the Broadway dream of becoming a big star. To make it big, she must impress Broadway director Julian Marsh (played by Christopher Carl, who appeared in MGR's The Producers and Les Miserables); as well as the authors of the show played by Becky Barta and Brian Runbeck. Runbeck just appeared as Wilbur in Hairspray and Elisha in Anything Goes this season. Standing in Peggy's way is established Broadway star Dorothy Brock, played by Rebecca Spencer, and cheering her on is leading man Billy Lawlor, played by tenor Zak Edwards. Rounding out the show, the accomplished ensemble includes MGR veterans Kendra Madigan, Julie Tomaino, Daniel Scullin, Maddy Apple, Geoff Howard, and Michael Nye.

Brett Smock, who has staged over 28 productions at MGR including Chicago, Cabaret, Kiss Me, Kate, 42nd Street, and Damn Yankees, directs and choreographs this incredibly talented cast along with MGR favorite Corinne Aquilina as musical director. Featuring favorite Broadway tunes "We're in the Money," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo," and "Lullaby of Broadway," 42nd Street is non-stop tap dancing at its best.
