Likai He began his violin studies with his father, Jianjun He, at the age of three. His recent honors include the winner of the 2013 Georgia MTNA Competition, 2011 Florida MTNA Competition, and 2010 Florida ASTA Competition. He was also awarded 2nd place in the 2013 MTNA Southern Division Senior Strings Competition. In 2009, as the winner of the Wyoming ASTA Solo Competition, he performed Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, and was also invited to perform at the Wyoming Arts Council.
He was winner of the 2011 Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra Competition and played Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Likai also won the 2011 Jacksonville Friday Musicale Scholarship Competition and 2012 Sarasota Artist Series Scholarship Competition. Currently a junior at Columbus State University (GA), he is a recipient of the prestigious Woodruff Award studying violin with Prof. Sergiu Schwartz. As the winner of the Schwob School of Music Concerto Competition, he performed Vieuxtemps Concerto No. 5 with the Columbus State University Philharmonic in the spring of 2013.
