Washakie Museum & Cultural Center
5/9-5/9/2014
Join the Museum Singers as they raise their voices in the awakening of Spring with music that celebrates the experience and wonder of life above, below, and all around us. 'A Spring Celebration!' will include joyful Irish songs recorded by flutist April Whitlock, and cellist Shara Mills. A children's chorus will add to the expression and excitement of the night in 'Lightening!' and 'Star Dance'. Beautiful songs using the poetry of Robert Frost, Robert Louis Stevenson, and William Wordsworth calmly depict the warmth of a grassy hillside and a view from the clouds. A special feature of ABBA music from the hit musical 'Mamma Mia!' will take you to the sun and fun of a secluded island where romance abounds. The Museum Singers choir was organized in 2009 to perform for the Washakie Museum's Grand Opening in 2010. This year's Singers include 15 talented women-Linda Axtell, Susan Carrell, Jeanne Core, Jennifer Herrmann, Marsha Hill, Liz Jolley, Tracy Myers, Karen Romero, Margaret Shaw, Janet Snyder, Sherry Stottler, Jessica Vigil, Hillary Wall, Bryony Wilde, and Sherryl Ferguson, Museum Performing Arts Coordinator.
