Starting The Crazy Coqs' very exciting September schedule is the highly acclaimed Barb Jungr, who returns after a sell out week earlier this year with her new show HERE COMES THE NIGHT (September 3 - 7), followed by one of the country's leading musical stars Dave Willetts, in his show AN EVENING WITH Dave Willetts (September 10 - 12). Making their debut at Crazy Coqs are the unmissable, unique piano duo Worbey and Farrell (September 13 & 14). The wonderfully talented theatre, TV and film actress Celia Imrie performs her debut cabaret show LAUGHING MATTERS (September 17 - 21) and also returning are Kit & McConnel with their new show SECOND MARRIAGE (September 24 - 28).

HERE COMES THE NIGHT

September 3- 7

Take a walk into the Noir side of life with one of the UK's finest cabaret singer in recent times. Following her spellbinding sell-out shows at The Crazy Coqs in January this year, Barb Jungr returns with a new collection of songs delving into the wonder, beauty, sadness and glory of THE NIGHT. Fascinating composers, songwriters and writers alike, the night has inspired some of the most wonderful songs and lyrics and as always, Jungr picks the less obvious and finds treasures both in her existing repertoire and in songs new to her on this inspiring theme. Arranged with her superb collaborator and accompanist, Simon Wallace, Barb and Simon work with great songs by great songwriters including Hank Williams, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and with a generous mix of Jungr and Wallace's original songs.

Barb Jungr has wowed audiences and critics worldwide with her powerful reinterpretations of Bob Dylan's work. Variously described by critics as magnificent, mesmerizing and magical, Barb Jungr has built a formidable reputation as an international live performer and recording artiste. Her repertoire includes songs by Jacques Brel, Nina Simone, Jimmy Webb, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen amongst many others. Barb has ranked at the top of Time Out, New York's best cabaret awards for her shows and in 2008 she also received the Nightlife Award for Outstanding Cabaret Vocalist.

Dave Willetts

AN EVENING WITH Dave Willetts

September 10- 12

For over 25 years, Tony Award Winner Dave Willetts, has been one of this country's leading musical theatre stars. Critics and contemporaries alike have praised him both nationally and internationally, for his worldwide performances in some of the most renowned musicals of our time. In September for three days he performs at The Crazy Coqs, with his show AN EVENING WITH Dave Willetts. He will be singing some of the greatest songs from some of the best Broadway and the West End shows in his own unique and inimitable style with a few surprises along the way.

Willetts was the first person in the world to have played the leading roles in the two most successful shows of recent times; LES MISERABLES (London and Australia) and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (London and Manchester) for which he won the Evening News award for best performance. His other leading roles include such shows as CATS, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, RAGTIME, SOMEONE LIKE YOU, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, SWEENEY TODD, FOLLIES, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, LET US GLY, SOUTH PACIFIC, SUNSET BOULEVARD and 42ND STREET.

He has many international concert appearances to his name, including the concert halls of Monterrey, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Rotterdam, Munich as well as the Royal Albert Hall, London. He also has a successful recording career, with solo albums and numerous show albums to his name.

Worbey and Farrell

September 13 & 14

Steven Worbey and Kevin Farrell are one of the world's most entertaining and unique piano acts. Revolutionary in their treatment of the traditional piano duet, they push the boundaries of the instrument using it to illuminate music of every style - classical, popular and contemporary. Their instrument can imitate the tones of a Spanish guitar, resound with their very own Paganini Variations or pulsate with the passions of the masters of jazz. They perform everything from Rachmaninov's 18th Variation to Saint-Saëns's Carnival of the Animals complete with their own verse.

Combining musical thrills with a deep love of laughter, these two internationally acclaimed concert pianists, have played with the world's leading symphony orchestras, achieved a million hits on YouTube, and entertained audiences all over the globe with their barnstorming blend of sparky comedy and utterly sensational piano-playing.

Celia Imrie

LAUGHING MATTERS

September 17 -21

The very accomplished film, theatre and TV actress, comedienne and now cabaret artist, Celia Imrie graces the stage of The Crazy Coqs with her debut show LAUGHING MATTERS. Performing songs and sketches by popular writers such as Jerry Herman, Lynda La Plante, Neil Sedaka, Dorothy Parker, Carole King, Arabella Weir, Noel Coward, Charles Strouse and Mozart. Because Celia believes that, in these tough times, really...LAUGHING MATTERS

On stage with Celia will be her musical director and pianist Nick Finlow, currently the Musical Director of THE BOOK OF MORMON and associate musical supervisor for JERSEY BOYS and MAMMA MIA and on drums will be Mike Porter.

Celia has recently been filming WHAT WE DID ON OUR HOLIDAYS with Rosamund Pike, David Tennant, Billy Connolly and Ben Miller and will have two new films out later in the year LOVE PUNCH with Tim Spall, Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan and Amber Entertainment's and MOLLY MOON with Emily Watson, Sadie Frost and Anne-Marie Duff. Celia is also working on a novel set in the South of France due for publication in 2014.

Celia is an Olivier Award-winning English actress. In a career starting in the early 1970s, Imrie has played Marianne Bellshade in BERGERAC, Philippa Moorcroft in DINNERLADIES, Miss Babs in ACORN ANTIQUES, Diana Neal in AFTER YOU'VE GONE and Gloria Millington in KINGDOM. She has been described as "one of the greatest British actresses of recent decades" and was recently seen in the award winning film THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL and in NOISES OFF in the West End

Kit & McConnel

KIT AND MCCONNEL - SECOND MARRIAGE

September 24 - 28

When the two very talented songwriters Kit and McConnel played at Crazy Coqs in February this year, they completely sold out their 5 night residency and have been invited back again to perform their new splendid show KIT AND MCCONNEL - SECOND MARRIAGE.

This very popular act make brilliant musical comedy together with James at the piano and Kit singing a delightful mixture of witty and cleverly written original songs laden with both blatant and implied satirical references. Never afraid to push the jokes, they poke fun at everyday events and modern cultural happenings, whilst also including some serious numbers in their act. No two shows for Kit and McConnel are ever the same. After a wealth of experience these two men certainly know how to make an audience crease up with laughter and are a truly enjoyable pair to watch

Kit and James are old friends and collaborators. In 2011 they teamed up to become Kit and McConnel. In 2012 and 2013, in addition to their recent UK tour with Joan Rivers (culminating at the Albert Hall) they have had sell-out shows at Theatre Royal Windsor, Salisbury Playhouse, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford, The Pheasantry, The Crazy Coqs, Three Choirs Festival, Holt Festival and many more.

Miss Hope Springs' Sunday Soiree

Every Sunday evening

After a year of sell out shows and critical acclaim, comedy cabaret chanteuse Miss Hope Springs continues her very popular Sunday night show. Original songs infused with Latin America flavours, accompanied by throbbing double bass and burning percussion. Sensual bossa novas, scintillating sambas, down and dirty mambos and cheeky cha cha chas. She continues to delight audiences, while her scandalous showbiz stories tickles them pink on her Sunday night residency.

John Standing SWINGS Cole Porter

Every first Monday of the month, John Standing who is one of England's most respected stage, film and television actors, sings 15 of Porter's songs and tells stories of a life in the theatre and movies.

Open Mic Night Every Thursday

Every Thursday from 10.30pm till midnight, Harold Sanditen hosts an open mic evening, which includes regular musicians Michael Roulston on piano and Jonty Fisher on bass. The open mic provides a nurturing environment for composers, musicians and singers to test new work in front of an audience, as well as a great evening of entertainment for audiences, who will have the chance to catch that proverbial 'rising star' or see an existing star, in what is arguably the most beautiful new music room in town.
