TASTiSKANK

TASTiSKANK is Sarah Litzsinger and Kate Reinders. These two ex-Broadway stars explore the ups and downs of their quote-unquote love lives, relying on valium and their friendship to get them through. They were the winners of the 2007 Breakout Award at HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, and were also voted two of the 25 Sexiest New Yorkers by the New York Post, which makes them REALLY REALLY sexy (and yes, they're single).

Tuesday, August 5th @ 8 PM; $15
Tragedy Tomorrow
TIM ELLIS & SIDSE PLOUG SOERENSEN

What do these two people's shows have in common?  Only that Ars Nova thinks they are both hilarious and wants you to be able to see them in one night!

TIM ELLIS: An Inquiry into Human Understanding: The Meditations, Confessions, Ethics, Metaphysics, and Poetics of Tim Ellis

Tim Ellis ponders the big questions while sweating the small stuff in his one-man exploration of the human condition.  His distinctive comic monologues are smart, engaging and downright hilarious, often being compared to the work of Steven Wright and Spalding Gray.  Directed by Michelle Morrison.

SIDSE PLOUG SOERENSEN: DELUDED¿

Quirky and beautiful Danish funny gal Sidse Ploug Soerensen writes and performs an evening of fresh sketch comedy in the style of a
Christopher Guest flick.  Joined by her sketch side-kick Stefan Schick, Soerensen introduces us to a host of new characters, including
an aspiring actress named Cookie who will usher us through the set. Directed by Stacy Shane.

Thursday, August 7th @ 8 PM; $20
Special Event

CATIE LAZARUS: FRESH MEAT
New York comedy darling Catie Lazarus hosts a group of always hilarious and sometimes famous show biz folks who will perform an
evening of genre crossing comedy.  Once that's out of the way, she'll sit them down Barbara Walter's style and ask them to share their worst experiences in the biz, their first jokes and what inspired them to be the special snowflakes they are today.  Before the night is over, the audience gets to chime in with a press conference style Q and A.  It's an all out comedy madhouse with a touch of Oprah!

Special Guests scheduled to appear include: Julie Brister (Little Britain), Sean Conroy (Comedy Central), Jim Gaffigan (My Boys) and a special Jeanie Tate short from Maggie Carry and Liz Cakowski (SNL, Warner Brothers).

As New York's premier hub for emerging artists and new work, Ars Nova develops and produces eclectic Theater, comedy and music to feed today's popular culture. To that end, Ars Nova strives to create daring collaborations, meld disciplines and give voice to a new
generation of artists. Founded on the principle that a professional and safe environment where risk-taking is encouraged will cultivate a
community of innovators, Ars Nova's fundamental mission is to reinvigorate the world of live performance by supporting smart, surprising new work from the next wave of emerging artists. Ars Nova was founded in memory of Gabe Wiener. For more information, visit www.arsnovanyc.com
