The Meeting is a hit monthly comedy/variety show for homosexuals and their friends.  A "gay" romp through politics, sexual and otherwise, social news, music, skits, and other important life-changing information. Produced by Adam J. Rosen, The Meeting* returns to The Duplex Cabaret Theatre on November 18, 2010 at 9:30 pm with writer/host Justin Sayre.  Past "agenda items" have included the continuing romantic saga of gay penguins at the San Francisco Zoo, a nativity play celebrating the birth of Quentin Crisp, a guide to the so-called "gay panic" defense, and musical numbers with Poor Baby Bree and Cole Escola.  The November show will feature special guest stars Ben Cameron (Aida, Footloose, Wicked, Broadway Sessions with Ben D, Mostly Sondheim at The Duplex), Emily McNamara (The Awesome 80s Prom, Curtain Call at Splash Bar), and Molly Pope (Introducing Molly Pope, The Molly Pope Show, Our Hit Parade at Joe's Pub).

The Meeting* operates under the myth of the "gay agenda" and is structured as any organizational meeting for homosexuals would be, where business of the day, upcoming events and social issues are discussed, ridiculed, and interwoven between comedy sketches, musical numbers, and other "homo-hijinks."  Audience response has been ecstatic.

From an early age, Justin Sayre demonstrated a supernatural instinct for "camp," an ability that shines throughout The Meeting*.   Justin is a child of Forty Fort, PA, who moved to New York believing it was still 1947.  He was terribly misinformed.  In 2006, Justin received rave reviews for his cabaret, "Without A Song."  As an actor, he has worked and studied with some of the finest professionals in New York.  As a gay, Justin has excelled at scarf placement, Judy hands, and a healthy but firm love of the American musical.

The Meeting* celebrates its one-year anniversary with a tribute to the score of the film Beaches and the release of the new The Meeting* podcast feature Justin and MAC Award-winner Matt Sigl.

The Meeting* occurs at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, located at 61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave, New York, NY 10014, 11/18/10 at 9:30 pm.  There is a $10 cover charge and a two-drink minimum.  You must be 21+ years of age to attend.  For reservations, please visit www.theduplex.com.  For more information visit www.facebook.com/TheMeetingWink
