The cast and creators of High Fidelity, Peter Filichia, Charles Strouse, Marlene Ver Planck, Steve Ross and more will appear as part of the Any Wednesday series next month.

"Each month Any Wednesday celebrates the best in cabaret, jazz and theater music, and this month we sample from all of these genres. In fact, we have an overflow of events. Each entertainment, except where noted below, begins at 6:00 p.m. and takes place in the third floor event space of the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble at 66th and Broadway. The performances last approximately a half hour, and are followed by a signing/meet-and-greet session with the artist(s). All events are free and open to the public," state press materials.

The line-up is as follows:

Aug. 1:  "Any Wednesday kicks off the month with the high energy and high spirits of High Fidelity, this season's Broadway musical that is already on its way to becoming a cult favorite. Among those celebrating the cast recording in performance will be composer Tom Kitt, lyricist Amanda Green, and original cast members Will Chase and Jenn Colella."

Aug. 1 (at 7:30): "Theater columnist/author Peter Filichia will appear, speaking about the revised and expanded version of his excellent book, Let's Put on a Musical. Joining Peter will be the composer of two of the most popular musicals with amateur groups, as well as many other great Broadway shows, Charles Strouse (Bye, Bye, Birdie; Annie). Mr. Strouse will perform some of his songs."

Aug. 8: "Jazz singer par excellance Marlene Ver Planck will perform selections from her recently reissued album, 'My Impetuous Heart,' as well as other great standards in her sensitive and swinging style. Find out why Hugh Martin said 'We know our songs are safe in the hands of Marlene."

Aug. 15: "Marieann Meringolo brings her newest CD/DVD combo, 'Here's to the Ladies! A salute to the great ladies in song.'  And a great songlist it is, with songs identified with everyone from Peggy Lee to Dionne Warwick to Judy Garland, all given that special Meringolo spin."

Aug. 22:  "A newish member of the New York cabaret world, Nancy Stearns has a passion for discovering rare and forgotten Broadway songs and celebrating their wit and intelligence. Her two albums 'Sing Me a Song With Social Significance… Or Not' and 'Words of Women' display her interests, and she will be sharing selections from both."

Aug. 29: "Elegant, witty, urbane are adjectives that naturally attach to pianist/singer Steve Ross. Returning to the Oak Room in September for the first time in many years, Any Wednesday will get a sneak preview of his new show, a salute to Stephen Sondheim. The New York Times dubbed Steve the crown prince of New York cabaret."
