Sondheim Unplugged, New York's long running hit revue, will celebrate the 50th installment of the series with two very special gala performances on Sunday, December 27th at 7pm and 9:30pm at Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th St., Cellar, NYC). Each performance will feature entirely different casts and material, running the musical spectrum from Dick Tracy to Follies, Company to Assassins, Forum to Whistle,and lots more in between. There is a special two show package available, which includes a Sondheim-themed prix-fix dinner, for those who wish to see both performances.

Sondheim Unplugged was born five and half years ago amid the celebrations in honor of Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday. Since then, over 150 vocalists and special guests have appeared in the series over the span of 49 performances. Notable special guests have included Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music), Victoria Mallory (Follies, A Little Night Music), Donna McKechnie (Company), Annie Golden (Assassins), Danielle Ferland (Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods), Joy Franz (Into the Woods), Joanna Gleason (Into the Woods), Chip Zien (Into the Woods), Terri White (Follies) and many more amazing performers, re-creating their roles from iconic Sondheim musicals while also exploring other material from the Sondheim cannon.

Special guests on the 27th will include: Daisy Eagan (Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall), Ken Jennings (Sweeney Todd), Pamela Winslow Kashani (Into the Woods), Karen Mason (Gypsy at The Sundance Theatre Institute), Kurt Peterson (Follies), Teri Ralston (Company), Sarah Rice (Sweeney Todd),Alice Ripley (Company at The Kennedy Center) and Jim Walton (Merrily We Roll Along).

Conceived and hosted by Phil Geoffrey Bond (MAC/Bistro/Nightlife Award winner), with music direction by Joe Goodrich, the cast for the evening also includes: Jim Brochu (Drama Desk winner), Harris Doran, Natalie Douglas, Marquee Five, Scott Logston (Les Miserables), Rob Maitner (Urinetown), Mark Nadler (Dame Edna, The Royal Tour), Molly Pope, Kelli Rabke (Les Miserables, Joseph...), Julie Reyburn, Steve Ross, Courter Simmons (Jersey Boys), Timothy John Smith, Lucia Spina (Kinky Boots), Thom Christopher Warren (The Lion King) & Michael Winther (Mamma Mia).

SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED features an array of Broadway and Cabaret's most dynamic performers, celebrating the work of Broadway's most beloved and prolific composer, accompanied by piano only. The series boasts an impressive, rotating cast of some of the theatre world and cabaret's most impressive talents, all of whom perform their favorite Sondheim tunes. Sondheim Unplugged is the recipient of the the 2011 Bistro Award, as well as the 2013 BroadwayWorld Award for Outstanding Recurring Series, and has been running in New York since July of 2010.
