Saycon Sengbloh, Marty Thomas and More to Celebrate N'Kenge at MOTOWN's First Baby Shower

There is No Town Like Motown! Saycon Sengbloh (Hollar If Ya Hear Me, Motown, Fela), Marty Thomas (Pageant:The Musical, Xanadu, Wicked) and more are set to perform for Motown's First Baby Shower, honoring N'Kenge "Mary Wells" (Motown: The Musical, Sondheim on Sondheim). N'Kenge is the first original cast member to take a maternity leave from Motown: The Musical since it opened in April 2013, and she will return to her role December 1, 2014. The "Princess Baby Shower Fete" will be hosted by Haven Rooftop Restaurant at the Sanctuary Hotel in the heart of the Theater District this weekend!

In addition to Sengbloh and Thomas, other performers and appearances will include Sydnee Winters (Motown, The Lion King), Miss New York 2013 Pageant Queen Stephanie Jill Chernick, Andrea Dora (Motown, Tarzan), J SINGLIO "The Singing Magician" and more! Avon, Mary Kay, Entrepreneurs and Professionals Network, Oceanic Sailing Foundation and Lana's Place Organic Salon & Day Spa have joined as sponsors for this special baby shower event! While on maternity leave, N'Kenge is still actively performing with Symphonies and for Benefits. Most recently, N'Kenge joined Tony Danza and more in a "Salute to Elaine Stritch" Benefit Concert at the Metropolitan Room.

NY Post calls N'Kenge "Electrifying" in the role of Mary Wells in Broadway's Motown: The Musical and she made her Broadway debut in Sondheim on Sondheim alongside Vanessa Williams, Barbara Cook and Norm Lewis. N'Kenge made her West End debut starring in The Genius of Ray Charles and has been hailed by Variety as "a sensational powerhouse of a singer packed in a lithe body". N'Kenge made her Carnegie Hall debut with the New York Pops Orchestra where NY Times called her "a classically trained diva that can stretch from Broadway, Pop Soul to Opera".
