JULIAN FLEISHER & FRIENDS HOLIDAY SHOW

Wednesday, December 24 at 7:30PM

$25

Before the art of song was divided into narrow stylistic slices, before there was Jazz or Pop or Rock, there was Nightclub Singing. Like Sammy Davis, Jr, Ethel Water and Mel Tormé before him, Julian Fleisher mixes masterful interpretations of a wide range of popular songs with kick-ass showmanship and a generously endowed band that -- as the Washington Post put it -- "blew the roof off of Joe's Pub."

ELI SCHWEBEL & THE A-MEN

Wednesday, December 24 at 9:30PM

$25 Adv / $35 Door

As producer and lead singer of the band Lev Tahor, Eli Schwebel spearheaded the renaissance of Jewish Acappella music, as well as creating a vocally rich, pop-rock sound that transformed the definition of traditional Jewish music. He is now launching his solo career with his first ever solo album entitled "Hearts Mind" which he will be performing with his seven-piece band the A-Men.

SANDRA BERNHARD IS #BLESSED

Friday-Tuesday, December 26-30 at 7:30PM & 9:30PM

Wednesday, December 31 at 9:00PM & 11:00PM

$60-$200

Sandra Bernhard's new live show Sandra Bernhard is #blessed will spotlight her own unique, sharp blend of hysterical insight and outspoken views, with rock-n-roll, cabaret, stand-up and a little burlesque. Sandra Bernhard is #blessed also features Bernhard's band The Flawless Zircons, who perform with her at sold out venues in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and all points in between.

Of last year's holiday shows at Joe's Pub in Manhattan, Next Magazine wrote "Bernhard looked like 10 million bucks in a pair of black leather pants and a chic white blouse, her world was Sandyland and we were merely allowed to live in it. Her lacerating observations and spot-on social commentary remain as sharp and insightful as ever."

GARLAND JEFFREYS

Wednesday, December 31 at 7:00PM

$50

Garland Jeffreys returns to Joe's Pub, this time with his legendary New Year's Eve performance. He has been called an edgy urban poet, the sound of New York, a confessional singer-songwriter, and an explorer of the links between rock, race and rebellion whose work should be taught in schools. With songs covered by artists as diverse as punk pioneers The Circle Jerks ("Wild in the Streets") and the neo-folk band Vetiver ("Lon Chaney"), Jeffreys is truly unclassifiable. After a hiatus from recording during which he helped raise his daughter, Jeffreys released The King Of In Between on his own Luna Park label. Co-produced with Larry Campbell (Grammy-winning producer with Levon Helm) the album marks a return to the more roots-driven sounds of his earlier work, especially the acclaimed 1977 Ghost Writer.

MURRAY HILL'S NEW YEAR'S EVE LATE SHOW

Wednesday, December 31 at 1:00AM

$20-30 Adv / $40 Door

New York's beloved entertainer and comedian Mr. Murray Hill rings in the New Year with his annual laugh-tastic, boozy, bodacious variety show and dance party with New York's finest, wildest, and wackiest performers. Hill, Mr. Showbiz himself, plays the comic ringleader to this circus of burlesque bombshells, ballsy and bawdy singers, legendary performance artists, and many more surprises! They will dazzle you, maybe frighten you, but will definitely entertain you and get your mind off your troubles so you can enter the New Year in full denial and intoxicated! That's Showbiz!

Guests include neo-burlesque legend Dirty Martini, boylesque stud Mr. Gorgeous, rapper and bling king Champagne Jerry (Neal Medlyn), smoking songstress Bridget Barkan, and hilarious dance comedy duet Kitten LaRue and Lou Henry Hoover. Creating theater for one of the largest and most diverse audience bases in New York City for nearly 60 years, today the Company engages audiences in a variety of venues-including its landmark downtown home at Astor Place, which houses five theaters and Joe's Pub; the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, home to its beloved, free Shakespeare in the Park; and the Mobile Unit, which tours Shakespearean productions for underserved audiences throughout New York City's five boroughs. The Public's wide range of programming includes free Shakespeare in the Park, the bedrock of the Company's dedication to making theater accessible to all, new and experimental stagings at The Public at Astor Place, and a range of artist and audience development initiatives including its Public Forum series, which brings together theater artists and professionals from a variety of disciplines for discussions that shed light on social issues explored in Public productions.
