Photo Coverage: John Pizzarelli Brings STRICTLY BOSSA NOVA to Cafe Carlyle
John Pizzarelli once again expertly switches (musical) hats at Cafe Carlyle with his new concert of bossa nova music. The evening is titled "Strictly Bossa Nova" and it features Daniel Jobim, grandson of the seminal Antonio Carlos Jobim and an ensemble of Brazilian musicians.
As a singer and Guitarist, John Pizzarelli has been entertaining audiences for over 20 years. Using the Great American Songbook as a touchstone, Pizzarelli has made 20 albums as a solo artist and has been featured on over 40 albums as a sideman, accompanying such greats as Paul McCarney, Rosemary Clooney, James Taylor, Rickie Lee Jones and Natalie Cole.
Daniel Jobim is the son of guitarist Paulo Jobim and grandson of the composer Antonio Carlos Jobim. He has recorded and performed with the likes of Dorival Caymmi, Joao Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Tom Jobim, Carole Bayer Sager, Donald Fagen, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa, Stevie Wonder,Sting, Sean Lennon and others.
