Multi-talented, multi-award winning song and dance man Jon Peterson brings his extraordinary show, Song Man, Dance Man: A one man show about the one man shows back to The Triad Cabaret Theater for four monthly performances beginning Monday, July 20 at 7 pm.

As part of the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble "Any Wedensday" series, Jon will be performing songs from his album Skidoo!, which came out of his nomadic life - arriving in NYC in 1998 to a frantic, hostile city - and songs from his show Song Man, Dance Man. This event will take place at the Barnes and Noble located at 66th Street and Broadway on July 22 at 6pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Song Man, Dance Man returns to the Triad for a new run of monthly shows: July 20, August 24, October 20, and November 17. All shows are at 7pm. There is a $15 music charge and a two drink minimum. The Triad Cabaret Theater is located at 158 West 72nd Street (between Broadway & Columbus Ave.) on the 2nd floor. Metered parking is available until 10 pm and there are two parking lots nearby. Reservations: (212) 362 2590.

The show is creative and innovative in a manner rarely seen in a cabaret setting. If singing and dancing have thrilled you and the rush that you get from that rare creature, the all-round entertainer, gives you chills, this show is made for you. This is a special event by one of today's most talented and dynamic entertainers. In his career, Jon Peterson has repeatedly conquered the worlds of cabaret and musical theater.

Based on some of the preeminent song and dance men of their era, this intimate musical revue epitomizes the true entertainment package in a night club setting. They not only sang and danced to great music, individually, created unforgettable performances through their genius.

In Song Man, Dance Man, Jon Peterson pays respectful tribute to some of these men who ignited the music hall stages of the world and film for much of the twentieth century with their talent leaving a legacy that we will likely never see again.

Musical direction and arrangements are by Michael Lavine.

George M. Cohan: The man who invented the song and dance man. Fred Astaire & Gene Kelly: Each brought their unique excellence that revolutionized the movie musical. Bobby Darin: A consummate entertainer whose meteoric rise to stardom ended too soon. Anthony Newley: His eccentric, Cockney brilliance shook the musical world. These men stood alone and defined their craft. This intimate, one-man musical revue is merely an acknowledgment of that greatness.

Jon was last seen locally in Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Ladies" at the Gateway Playhouse on Long Island, and recently starred in "Half a Sixpence" (Arthur Kipps) at Goodspeed Opera House.
