Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue its Summer 2012 season with the return of MAC and Bistro award winner Raissa Katona Bennett in a special week-long engagement from August 21 to August 25. The show will celebrate the release of her new CD, Another Kind Of Light from LML Music, produced by Rob Abel.

Bennett performs a mix of jazz, pop and theatre songs, and puts a contemporary spin on well-known standards. The CD and show include a number of never-before-recorded songs by prominent songwriters, including two songs written for Raissa by Michael John LaChiusa. Other song debuts were contributed by Ron Abel & Chuck Steffan, and David Caldwell. Also represented are Christine Lavin; Alan Menken & David Spencer; Alan & Marilyn Bergman; Stephen Flaherty & Lynn Ahrens; Michael Mooney & Stephen Hoffman; Scott Frankel & Michael Korie, and Amanda McBroom & Michele Brourman.

The evening is directed by Eric Michael Gillett and features Bennett’s core musicians from the album – Sean Harkness on guitar; Ray Marchica on drums; Ritt Henn on bass; and music director David Caldwell on piano. Another Kind Of Light will run at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Bennett performed the role of Christine on Broadway in Phantom of the Opera, and was in the first national tours of Cats and Parade. In addition, Raissa was nominated for a 2009 MAC Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist and received the 2010 Bistro Award and 2010 MAC Award for Outstanding Achievement as the creator, producer and host of “The Concerts for City Greens,” which is dedicated to preserving the green spaces of NYC, while introducing a whole new audience to the artists of the cabaret and theater communities.

In New York, Raissa has headlined at: Feinstein’s at Loews Regency, The Metropolitan Room, Iridium and The Laurie Beechman Theatre. She has guest starred at The Supper Club, The Rainbow Room, The Algonquin and Radio City Music Hall. She has soloed with many symphony orchestras and was guest soloist at the estate of the legendary Cal Ripken, Jr. She was featured at the Lincoln Center Barnes and Noble performing selections from her CD What I Was Dreaming Of.
