The RRazz Room, San Francisco's premier nightclub, will welcome four time Grammy nominee Oleta Adams back to the Bay Area in her new show "Get Here." Since the runaway success of her 1990 debut Platinum album Circle of One, and the hit single "Get Here" (a Brenda Russell composition), Oleta Adams has inspired a growing legion of fans in the U.S. and Europe with journeys of the heart via songs that draw deeply from her roots in gospel, while crossing effortlessly into the realms of soul, R&B, urban, and popular music.

With eight CDs – including secular, gospel, and a Christmas album – and almost three million albums sold, Oleta's musical odyssey continues. Oleta's newest album is Let's Stay Here. Oleta wrote eight of the ten songs and produced this album herself. It is a creative and evocative project with a soulful jazz influence. The songs weave through a journey of a seductive love affair, vacation bliss, an abusive relationship, and forgiveness. It also includes a cover of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good" which was used in a recent Buick TV commercial.

She first demonstrated her budding vocal gifts in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where her father served as minister. By the time Oleta was eleven, she was directing and accompanying four choirs, having already established herself as a piano prodigy. School provided another outlet for Oleta: the theatrical stage. In her senior year she broke barriers and traditions as the star of "Hello, Dolly!" She launched her career in Kansas City playing piano bars, hotel lounges and showrooms. Oleta quickly became a local institution, with her own billboard and a regular gig at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Celebrities from every musical genre caught her act, including Eartha Kitt, Cab Calloway, Air Supply, Gino Vanelli, Yes and Billy Joel. Serendipity came in the form of the British band Tears for Fears, who asked her to appear on their 1989 "The Seeds of Love' album, video and European tour. Upon her return to the U.S. Oleta signed a record deal for her first solo album. Since then, she has had worldwide tours with Phil Collins, Michael Bolton, and Luther Vandross.

The Rrazz Room at Hotel Nikko is located at 222 Mason Street, San Francisco, Calif. Oleta Adams will perform tonight, July 5 at 8:00 PM, Friday, July 6 at 8:00 PM, and Saturday, July 7 at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Tickets are $50.
