Is it possible that it's already been a year since BroadwayWorld.com launched the nominations period for its first New York Cabaret Awards? Well, it's that time again. Starting today-and until November 24-you can vote for your five favorite performers or shows in 23 different categories. Last year there were an astounding 3,000 nominations submitted and this year could generate even more, as it was a great 2013 for the cabaret scene in New York.

Once the nominations have been vetted for accuracy, Award voting will begin on December 2 and end on January 5. The winners will be announced the week of January 6. This year's 2013 BroadwayWorld.com New York Cabaret Awards Show will be on Sunday, February 23 at 6:30 at Joe's Pub and for the second successive year BroadwayWorld.com lead New York cabaret reviewer and columnist Stephen Hanks will host a Gala Awards Show featuring performances by many of the winners.

Before you go to the nominations page on the link below, please be aware of some rules and guidelines for the different categories. Anyone can enter to make nominations and vote, but we urge all those making nominations (and later voting on finalists) to only nominate or vote for shows or performers they have actually seen perform. While we can't prevent 20 of a performer's closest friends who haven't seen their show from nominating and voting for them, we'd like everyone to follow an honor system.

• Only shows staged and performed from November 1, 2012 to October 31, 2013 are eligible for nomination, and the show must have had a run of three performances. If the run of a 2012 show began last October and had its second or third performance after November 1, it can be eligible.

• Shows staged outside of New York City clubs are not eligible.

• Directors and Musical Directors who are nominated for different shows, will have their nomination combined and they will be placed on the final ballot once to avoid split votes.

• The November 1, 2012 to October 31, 2013 eligibility period also applies to nominations for Best CD Release and Best Original Song for a Cabaret Show. Songs written prior to November 1, 2012, or songs written for other entertainment genres but introduced to cabaret audiences in 2013 do not qualify.

• For the Revue category, shows must have featured original material written specifically for the show or of material written for another show, linked together by a theme.

• For the Singer/Songwriter category, nominees must be performers who presented shows featuring their own original material.
