The Broadway at Birdland concert series has announced that award-winning Natalie Douglas will return to her favorite perch at Birdland with an all-new concert, Freedom Songs, celebrating the joyful union of music & civil rights' activism.  On Monday, October 22 at 7pm, Natalie will be joined onstage by her longtime musical director, Mark Hartman (Sondheim on Sondheim, Avenue Q) and her band of Broadway All-Stars.

Freedom Songs highlights the songs of the fight for equality for all people regardless of color, religion, sexual orientation, gender, etc. by artists such as Sir Paul McCartney, Woody Guthrie, Dr. Nina Simone, Abbey Lincoln, Lena Horne, Helen Reddy and more.  Come hear their songs (including "Blackbird," "Now!," "Mississippi Goddam," "Freedom Day," & "I Am Woman") and explore the hope, the struggle, the joy and the music of our ever-changing world.  As this vital election draws near, join Natalie, Mark Hartman & the band as they explore the place where principle, passion, rhythm, melody, harmony & courage meet to change the world.
