Australia's very own First Class air b--ch will be raising a first class glass to 15 years of performing at Joe's Pub and 20 years of being...her! Pam Ann's barbed wit has seen her fly many a risky route and negotiate even the most politically incorrect flight path with her blisteringly funny takes on airlines and aircrew. Nothing is out of reach of her pristine white gloves, strutting up the aisle with a trolley full of beautifully unpredictable, acerbic airline satire. There's not much she hasn't done - from crewing Elton John's private jet at his express request, sharing a stadium stage on tour with Cher, and counting Madonna in her legion of devoted fans worldwide.

Taylor invited Rodriguez, who had never sung lead before, to step up to the mic and sing with him. The coupling of Taylor's rough-hewn vocals with Rodriguez' sweet, country-twanged voice sent the audience over The Edge. Since then, the duo have lit a fire on concert stages across the country and recorded two critically-acclaimed albums. Tonight, they celebrate the release of their latest collaboration, Red Dog Tracks. The album was recorded with the help of Bill Frisell, Kenny Wollesen and Richie Stearnes for a collection of down home songs about life and love that showcase their beautifully bittersweet Americana sound.

Long a piano-centric performer and songwriter, the guitar revitalized Ziman and led to an outpouring of new songs. This evening will showcase the newest material from Elizabeth & The Catapult.

JON STICKLEY TRIO WITH OPENER THE ACADEMY BLUES PROJECT

Thursday, August 25 at 7:00PM

$15

Jon Stickley Trio has been making waves with the independent and fan-funded release of their second album, Lost at Last, this past October. The originality and sheer energy of this genre-bending ensemble serves as a welcome wake-up call for those who experience it. Rooted in gypsy jazz, bluegrass and hip-hop, in an "exhilarating all-acoustic swirl" (Acoustic Guitar Magazine), they combine Stickley's rapid-fire flat-picking guitar with the sultry and wild, yet refined, melodies of Lyndsay Pruett on violin set over Patrick Armitage's drums. Lost at Last was recorded in the band's hometown of Asheville, NC at the iconic Echo Mountain Studios under the watchful eye of producer Dave King (The Bad Plus).

The Academy Blues Project is a powerhouse rhythm section founded in 2005 and based in New York City.

They blend funk grooves and the bluesy wail of front man Mark Levy for an irresistibly eccentric sound that draws from the likes of Talking Heads and the Mothers of Invention. Their propulsive live shows tend towards the outrageous & theatrical, while lyrically they spin offbeat narratives about everything from witches' hats to shipwrecks to the mysteries of the Hollywood Hills.

ADRIENNE TRUSCOTT'S ASKING FOR IT:

A ONE-LADY RAPE ABOUT COMEDY STARRING HER P**** AND LITTLE ELSE!

Thursday, August 25 at 9:30PM

$15

Adrienne Truscott returns with her multi-award winning show Asking For It: A One-Lady Rape About Comedy Starring Her P**** and Little Else! Dressed only from the waist up and the ankles down, she undoes and does-in the rules and rhetoric about rape and comedy and the brilliant, awful or awkward laughs when the two collide. With commentary and 'appearances' from George Carlin, Louis C. K. and Robert De Niro, she takes on ducks, p****-puppets, mini-skirts, rape whistles, Daniel Tosh, Bill Cosby and enough gin and tonics and bad behavior to get a girl in trouble. And because the world keeps turning and giving us new rapists, Truscott will have new material tackling the latest in the news. Decorated in give-it-to-me make-up, this show is light on its feet and easy on the eyes. If she's really asking for it, then we know the 'finale' for this show. Can you make jokes about rape? She plans to, all night long! Even if you tell her to stop.

Sobule is considered a pioneer in crowd sourcing, with her 2009 fan-funded record, California Years. She continues to be at the forefront of exploring and creating new models for artists in an ever-changing changing music industry.

WINTERPILLS LOVE SONGS ALBUM RELEASE WITH OPEENR DEATH VESSEL

Friday, August 26 at 9:30PM

$15

Consummate masters of the slow burn, Winterpills have nurtured a singular aesthetic with lush and sometimes gritty instrumentation, emotive and literate lyrics, sublime vocal harmonies, and cinematically structured songs. Their newest full-length, Love Songs (their seventh on Signature Sounds), was released in March and showcases a more raw, sonically heavier side of the band. Paste Magazine says Love Songs is "essential Winterpills, situated at the intersection of longing and resignation," and PopMatters says Love Songs "... stands out among the throngs of indie rock albums released this year."

Joel Thibodeau's latest album Island Intervals is his third record as Death Vessel. Thibodeau's slender, winsome voice is at once so comforting and so unsettling. Reed-thin but sturdy, youthful but somehow ageless, its deep benevolence is also slightly eerie, and the way he gently walks the line between intense feeling and contemplative remove lets him sing from a timeless place where he evokes the beauty of vanished people and places, sweetness too profound for words, loss too great for tears.

JAY BRANNAN

Saturday, August 27 at 7:30PM

Thursday, September 1 at 7:30PM

$20

Texas-native turned New Yorker Jay Brannan writes and performs his own sweet and sad folk songs, tempered with a healthy dose of humor, around the globe. He also appeared as an actor in John Cameron Mitchell's indie film sensation Shortbus, in which his song "Soda Shop" was the highest selling song on the film's soundtrack album. From there, Brannan released a string of albums, all of which topped the iTunes Singer/Songwriter & Billboard Heatseekers charts. His extensive international touring inspired his 2013 EP release Around the World in 80 Jays, a collection of nine international cover songs spanning 6 different languages. Brannan returned to the road (and sky) in 2014 to promote his new album of acoustic originals, entitled Always, Then, & Now.

TENNESSEE MAFIA JUG BAND

Sunday, August 28 at 9:30PM

$15

From the pastorAl Hills, hollers, shopping malls and interstate highways of Tennessee, home of country music's Bill Monroe, Bashful Brother Oswald, Stringbean, Grandpa Jones, Keith Whitley and more, comes the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band. Five guys and a scrubboard, with roots like wisdom teeth, the ban shamelessly stole a feature of the old Roy Acuff Show, a bit known as "Pap & the Jug Band." This frolicking fivesome brightens up the stage with rib-tickling old time tunes. Even better, they have an utter lack of self-consciousness (and some might say any sense of decorum). The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band not only know the music, they wear the costumes, tell corny jokes and even do slapstick gags that throw a cable-tv-numbed audience into hysterics.

Mike Daisey: THE TRUMP CARD

Sunday, August 28 at 6:30PM

$35

Mike Daisey takes on the reigning world heavyweight of self-mythologizing, the short-fingered vulgarian who captured a nation's heart through bullying, charm, one-syllable explosions and occasionally telling the brutal truth. Daisey tells Trump's story from his earliest days, tracking him as he makes himself into a new American archetype - the first rich man famous exclusively for being rich. Daisey weaves Trump's story with the evolution of the American oligarchy and the rise of dark money - a new ruling class empowered by a country trained to worship at the super classy 24-carat solid gold altar. Instead of dismissing Trump as a simple con artist and huckster, Daisey breaks down what makes Trump tick, illuminating the state of our American Dream and how we've sold it out.

Named for Public Theater founder Joe Papp, Joe's Pub at The Public debuted in 1998 and plays a vital role in The Public's mission of supporting young artists while providing established artists with an intimate space to perform and develop new work. In 2013, Joe's Pub celebrates 15 years of the best in live music and performance nightly, continuing its commitment to diversity, production values, community and artistic freedom. It received a top-to-bottom renovation in 2011, leading to improved sightlines, expanded seating capacity and a new menu from acclaimed Chef Andrew Carmellini. With its intimate atmosphere and superior acoustics, Joe's Pub presents talent from all over the world as part of The Public's programming downtown at its Astor Place home, hosting approximately 800 shows and serving over 100,000 Audience members annually.

The Public Theater, under the leadership of Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham, is the only theater in New York that produces Shakespeare, the classics, musicals, contemporary and experimental pieces in equal measure. Celebrating his 10th anniversary season at The Public, Eustis has created new community-based initiatives designed to engage audiences like Public Lab, Public Studio, Public Forum, Public Works, and a remount of the Mobile Unit. The Public continues the work of its visionary founder, Joe Papp, by acting as an advocate for the theater as an essential cultural force, and leading and framing dialogue on some of the most important issues of our day. Creating theater for one of the largest and most diverse audience bases in New York City for nearly 60 years, today the Company engages audiences in a variety of venues-including its landmark downtown home at Astor Place, which houses five theaters and Joe's Pub; the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, home to free Shakespeare in the Park; and the Mobile Unit, which tours Shakespearean productions for underserved audiences throughout New York City's five boroughs. The Public's wide range of programming includes free Shakespeare in the Park, the bedrock of the Company's dedication to making theater accessible to all; Public Works, an expanding initiative that is designed to cultivate new connections and new models of engagement with artists, audiences and the community each year; and audience and artist development initiatives that range from Emerging Writers Group and to the Public Forum series. The Public is located on property owned by the City of New York and receives annual support from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs; and in October 2012 the landmark building downtown at Astor Place was revitalized to physically manifest the Company's core mission of sparking new dialogues and increasing accessibility for artists and audiences, by dramatically opening up the building to the street and community, and transforming the lobby into a public piazza for artists, students, and audiences. The Public is currently represented on Broadway by the Tony Award-winning Fun Home and Lin-Manuel Miranda's acclaimed American musical Hamilton, and Danai Gurira's Eclipsed featuring Lupita Nyong'o. The Public has received 47 Tony Awards, 168 Obie Awards, 52 Drama Desk Awards, 54 Lortel Awards, 32 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 13 New York Drama Critics Awards, and five Pulitzer Prizes.
