FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, will continue its Winter 2011 season with the return of "American Idol" finalist, Melinda Doolittle from February 22 to March 5. Her new show "Love 101" will feature jazz standards, pop hits, Broadway classics and a special preview of her upcoming second CD, expected to be released later in 2011. She will be joined by a trio of Nashville's top touring and studio musicians: DeMarco Johnson on piano, Marcus Hill on drums and Viktor Krauss on bass. All shows are at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Melinda Doolittle, who became a household name on season six of American Idol, has continued to thrill. Her debut album, Coming Back To You (2009), garnered rave reviews from critics, including The New York Times which hailed Melinda as one of the most "phenomenally gifted" in years. The album soars as a soul-baring tour de force with Melinda transforming lively soul, jazz, pop and R&B stylings into a definitive collection of songs that urge the listener to come back again and again. Her album was closely followed by Beyond Me (2010), Melinda's revealing book recounting the life lessons that have shaped who she is today. Illustrated by poignant, often humorous stories, the lessons provide practical guidance to overcoming personal obstacles and achieving the next level in any area of life.

Raised in St. Louis, MO and Tulsa, OK, Melinda studied music at Belmont University in Nashville, TN and honed her skills as a background singer with the Gospel group Anointed. She would eventually sing background for musical legends such as Michael McDonald, Aretha Franklin, and Aaron Neville, before finishing third on the sixth season of "American Idol."

Since her time on Idol and her transition into the spotlight, Melinda has wowed audiences everywhere with her big voice and soulful performances, from the White House to the Musicians Hall of Fame, from the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall. Melinda is currently in the studio recording material for her sophomore album and will be blazing new trails this year as the first African American character on a "Veggie Tales" release. "Veggie Tales," the tremendously popular children's cartoon, will feature Melinda as Cassie Cassava on their 2011 DVD, Twas The Night Before Easter.
