The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, is bringing back -- for three nights only -- the super hot Marilyn Maye in her rapturously reviewed "Her Own Kind of Broadway". "Her Own Kind of Broadway" which was a sensation when it played nine times in October, performs Sunday to Tuesday December 5, 6, 7, all at 7pm.

Reviewing for The New York Times, Stephen Holden said Ms. Maye "swung the standards in a dark, honeyed voice untouched by the years."

Will Friedwald wrote in The Wall Street Journal, that "Marilyn Maye is pretty much every singer you ever wanted to hear!" "At more than 90 minutes, [her show] still didn't seem nearly long enough!"

"The miracle of Marilyn Maye," wrote Michael Dale of broadwayworld.com, " is her wise and insightful way with lyrics is matched with warm, inviting vocals from secure and healthy pipes that a 30-year-old would envy!"

Need we say more?

While under contract with RCA, Maye was the first to record Broadway songs such as "Cabaret," "Step to the Rear," "Sherry," "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" and other Broadway show songs, before the shows opened. "Cabaret" became an instant hit for Marilyn, as did "Sherry" and when the shows opened, the songs Marilyn had recorded were familiar to audiences. During her long and varied career Maye has portrayed Mame (in "Mame"), Dolly (in "Hello, Dolly"), Sally (in "Follies"), Carlotta (in "Follies") and Pistache (in "Can Can").

"Her Own Kind of Broadway," three nights only - Sunday, Monday and Tuesday December 5, 6, 7, all at 7pm. The music charge is $30, with a two-drink minimum. For information, or to order online, visit www.metropolitanroom.com. For reservations call 212/206-0440.
