Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond, featuring Tony Award and Golden Globe winner Linda Lavin, BACKSTAGE, Tony nominee Sally Mayes and award-winning jazz singer/songwriter Mark Winkler, award-winning singer Amber Martin, Sondheim Unplugged, musical legend Darlene Love, The Broadway Boys, Broadway star Morgan James and Night of Stars!

Linda Lavin, Jan. 8, 11 & 12 at 8:30PM & Jan. 10 at 7PM:
There's a new girl in town this January when Tony and Golden Globe winner Linda Lavin takes to our stage for four encore performances of Now, the show she debuted on our stage in September that had audiences demanding more! New York audiences remember her from It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Broadway Bound, Collected Stories, The Diary of Anne Frank, Gypsy, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, and many others, and the world over knows her as Alice Hyatt in the long-running hit TV series Alice. A veteran of the cabaret stage, Linda began her career playing such NYC nightspots as The Showplace in Greenwich Village and midtown's Downstairs at the Upstairs. Recently, Linda released her very first CD, Possibilities. This January, she'll be joined by Musical Director Billy Stritch, John Hart on guitar, and special guest violinist, Aaron Weinstein. BACKSTAGE, Jan. 8 at 10:30PM:
Each week, Broadway cast members and audiences alike gather to mix and mingle at 54 Below, Broadway's most intimate haunt, located in the heart of the theatre district. Musical Director Brad Simmons keeps the house jumping from the piano, while host Susie Mosher (the love child of Joanne Worley & Paul Lynde) guides the crowd through an evening of music, mayhem and full throttle belting. Special guests from hit Broadway shows drop in to perform and answer the question on everyone's minds, "what happened in each week to sing everything from Schwartz to Sondheim. You might even get up and sing yourself if you're feeling brave, or brave, or relax with a cocktail and some sliders - the night belongs to you! SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED, Jan. 9 at 6:30PM:
A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only. Expect tunes from A Little Night Music, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Passion, Dick Tracy and more. Past special guests have included original Sondheim cast members such as Len Cariou, Victoria Mallory & Donna McKechnie - so you never know who might drop in. Tony nominee Sally Mayes (She Loves Me, Steel Magnolias, Closer Than Ever), and Platinum award-winning jazz singer/songwriter Mark Winkler join forces for an evening of tunes on the swingin' side. Last year, Sally received rave notices in the off-Broadway production of Play It Cool, for which Mark contributed the lyrics. The Broadway Boys, Jan. 12 at 1PM:
The Broadway Boys is a collection of the hottest singers from Broadway shows who combine elements of funk/pop/gospel/rock and traditional showtunes to redefine the musical theatre sound. At their debut concert at 54 Below, The Boys will perform their new arrangements with an acoustic band, highlighting some of the Great White Way's most exciting young voices. Morgan James, Jan. 12 at 11PM:
Broadway's Morgan James is delighted to bring to 54 Below her smoky and soulful renditions of songs from her debut CD as well as a sampling of tunes you've not yet heard from her.
