2013 MetroStar winner and Kansas native, Lauren Stanford, made her solo cabaret debut last summer with I'm a Stranger Here Myself. For one special encore performance, I'm a Stranger Here Myself will be presented on February 1st at 1:00pm at The Metropolitan Room. The show explores New York City's enduring lure through songs made popular by small town women such as Helen Morgan, Mary Martin, Julie Wilson, Peggy Lee and more. Directed by Eric Michael Gillett with Music Direction by Mike Pettry.

Come sip a Sunday mimosa and enjoy the show Cabaret Scenes' Rob Lester said "sparkled." Susan Hasho at Theater Pizzazz called Lauren "a great storyteller," and "capable of wrapping the audience in a sweet spell." Roy Sander of The Bistro Awards stated "I've not heard anyone else convey the same clarity of character."

During The MetroStar Competition, Lauren was praised for her zany humor and insight that gave special dimension to her highly polished interpretations of a variety of songs. Since the competition she has performed in the MAC award winningAmanda McBroom Project and her own solo theatre piece about singer Helen Morgan, entitled More Than You Know. NiteLife Exchange named Lauren Stanford one of the 25 people in Cabaret to watch in 2015!

I'm a Stranger Here Myself will be presented February 1st at 1:00pm. Doors open at 12:30pm and there is a two drink minimum. Tickets are $20 (there is a discount for MAC members.)
