Tony Award-nominee Liz Larsen and other members of the cast of Such Good Friends - the new award-winning musical about a team of television writers who are threatened by blacklisting in the 50's - will perform a one-night-only concert of music by actual blacklisted writers, "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been...A Blacklist Cabaret," on Monday, November 5 at 6:30PM at the Zipper Theatre (336 W. 37 St., between 8th and 9th Ave).

Music by blacklisted writers such as Leonard Bernstein, Yip Harburg, Abe Burrows and Harold Rome, to name a few, will be performed Larsen (Hairspray, Man of La Mancha) and fellow Such Good Friends cast members Joshua Campbell, Michael Thomas Holmes and Blake Whyte along with special guest stars Kate Baldwin (Wonderful Town), Jeffry Denman (The Producers), Kerry O'Malley (Into the Woods) and Graham Rowat (LoveMusik) and Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde).

"Are You Now or Have You Ever Been" will also include numbers from Such Good Friends, with music and lyrics by Noel Katz, and directed by Marc Bruni. Larsen, Katz and Bruni all received awards from the 2007 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), where Such Good Friends debuted in September/October.

Such Good Friends received the Outstanding New Musical Award from Talkin' Broadway, while Liz Larsen won an Outstanding Performance NYMF 2007 Award and Outstanding Actor Award - Talkin' Broadway, while Noel Katz won an Excellence in Lyrics Award NYMF 2007 and Marc Bruni won the Excellence in Directing Award.

"Are You Now or Have You Ever Been" is presented by Kim Vasquez/GrayLady Entertainment, Executive Producer of Such Good Friends. Michael Horsley is the concert's musical director.

"Such Good Friends is an original musical comedy about three old friends - a comedienne, a director and a writer who are having the time of their lives entertaining America on television every week. But the pressures of being funny on television are child's play compared to the serious consequences of being forced to name names before the House Un-American Activities Committee," state press notes.

Admission to "Are You Now..." is $45, includes a pre-show wine and cheese reception and silent auction at 6:30PM, followed by the concert at 7:30PM and a post-show reception. For reservations call 347-528-8892.
