LOVE BOAT's Jill Whelan & UBN Personality Alexander Rodriguez Hit Rockwell

Radio show co-hosts Jill Whelan (Love Boat, Airplane, Celebrity Wife Swap) and Alexander Rodriguez (Happy Hour) from Universal Broadcasting Network's newest show "On The Rocks" will hit the stage on August 24th debuting their new duet cabaret show, "Musical Madness!" - a roller coaster of stories, audience participation, and dramedy, belted out by your co-hosts featuring music from stage, screen and pop. Fasten your seat belts, full steam ahead, its going to be a bumpy night! With their fast quips, penchant for wine and eclectic taste in music, there is no telling where this evening will end.

"Musical Madness" will feature music by Sondheim, Kander and Ebb, Stephen Schwartz, Marc Shaiman, Frank Loesser, and Irving Berlin.

The debut of their duet cabaret coincides with their recent coupling as co-hosts on Universal Broadcasting Network's newest show, "On the Rocks with Jill and Alexander" - their weekly talk show covers everything under the sun from entertainment and current events, to gossip and backstage stories with their celebrity guests. Jill and Alexander have both had major success from their previous podcasts and have conducted interviews with such names as Kurt Russell, Patti Labelle, Heidi Klum, William Shatner, Stephen Schwartz, Kenny Loggins, Frank Sinatra Jr., Doris Roberts, Florence Henderson, Dick Van Patten, Slash (from Guns n' Roses), Lisa Loeb, Joe Montegna, Diane Ladd, Pam Grier, Sean Astin, George Chakiris, Jamie Brewer (American Horror Story), Ross Mathews, Terri Nunn (Berlin), Sally Kirkland, Tippi Hedren, Fortune Feimster, Christina Crawford, Bravo TV's Shahs of Sunset, Rita Rudner, Tony Award Winner Daisy Eagan, and Broadway's Adam Pascal.

"Musical Madness" is directed by Michael Ferrera with Musical Direction by Bryan Blaskie. The show is one hour long. The show starts promptly at 8 with dinner service starting at 6:30 pm.

Jill Whelan Bio:

Jill has been a part of the fabric of television for over three decades. Millions of viewers first fell in love with her as "Vicki Stubing", the Captain's daughter on the iconic television show "The Love Boat". Jill is also responsible for one of the most talked about and recognizable scenes in the movie "Airplane", voted by The American Film Institute as one of the funniest movies of all time. As a singer, Jill has worked with legends; Sammy Davis Jr., Ethel Merman, Nell Carter, Stephen Schwartz and Liza Minnelli just to name a few. Jill proudly served as spokesperson for Nancy Reagan's White House national campaign against drug abuse. Jill hosted her own radio show in Philadelphia on WPHT, and a groundbreaking number one comedy podcast with Brian Phelps of "Mark and Brian" fame. Out of all of her accomplishments, the best thing that ever happened to her is her two boys, Harrison and Grant.

Alexander Rodriquez Bio:

Being a trouble maker from the womb, Alexander hails from the ultra conservative Orange County. He has enjoyed a varied career in the theatre, music and even banking. No stranger to radio, he recently finished three successful years with "Happy Hour with Ben & Alexander." In his free time, he enjoys hang gliding with the Dali Lama, feeding the lepers in Calcutta and going shopping with the Housewives of Beverly Hills. He currently performs in venues around Southern California and most recently performed his one man show, "I'll Drink To That" at Rockwell Table & Stage. Rodriquez has also performed on stage with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra at the Orange County Performing Arts Center and The Hoogland Performing Arts Center, Springfield, Illinois. He did received critical praise for his portrayal of Charlie Brown in "Snoopy" at the Roxy, Hollywood. He longs for the day when Patti LuPone will retract that restraining order.

Michael Ferrera (Director) Bio:

Michael Ferrera had an early career in entertainment, having acted in more than 30 stage production and directed four. He went on to work as an Associate Producer one the Sally Jessy Raphael Show and several other television shows. Michael travelled in the activist entertainment organization, Up With People, for two years performing in 15 countries and 30 states in the United States. He left entertainment several years ago to get his degree in clinical psychology and then founded the organization, LifeWorks, a mentoring and leadership development program for LGBT young people. He serves as Director of LifeWorks, which is now a program of the Los Angeles LGBT Center. In that role, Michael has produced several fundraising events and produces the Models of Pride Conference and its Entertainment Hour.

Bryan Blaskie Bio:

Bryan is a pianist and composer from Columbus, Ohio. Music director: 110 in the Shade (Actor's Co-op, Ovation Award Best Musical Intimate Theatre), The Max Factor Factor (Celebration/New Musicals, Inc), Tonya Harding: The Musical (Upright Citizens Brigade), Musical Mondays Los Angeles. He is a co-founder and music director of A Little New Music. Composer: iWish (ANMT, UC Irvine, Studio C Artists), Victorian Courting & Zombies (UCB, iO West, Hollywood Fringe). He graduated from Denison University and has studied with the Academy for New Musical Theatre. He currently serves as a staff accompanist for the American Musical & Dramatic Academy and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. His song cycle, "Assistants", was featured in the most recent Hollywood Fringe Festival garnering Best Musical and #1 Can't Miss.
