LezCab (www.lezcab.com), the only cabaret series by, for, and about queer women, is singing DUETS! How often do you hear two women profess their love in song? Not enough, right? Well come to LezCab Sings Duets! at the historic Stonewall Inn, the birthplace of the modern Gay Rights movement (read more: http://www.thestonewallinnnyc.com/StonewallInnNYC/HISTORY.html).

The summer cabaret will be Sunday, July 20, 2014, 6:30PM at the Stonewall Inn (53 Christopher St., New York, NY, 10014). Doors open at 6:00PM. This month's event will feature duets, old and new, both written for two women or given the famous LezCab twist!

Headlining LezCab sings Duets! is a special performance by Lauren Marcus, Molly Hager, and Joe Iconis. LezCab favorites performing this month include Joanna Burns, Elizabeth Pryce Davies, Holly Marie Dunn, Marie Eife, Sharisse Francisco, Em Grosland, Katy Hannon, Jami Leigh Howard, Kristin Rose Kelly, Julia Osen Averill, Corynne Peters, Caitlin Lee Reid (the upcoming Lezzie with a Z) and more.

LezCab seeks to produce and host musical theatre events that celebrate queer women in the musical theatre community, raising awareness of the general lack of representation, and giving a voice to this underserved community. Last year, LezCab was fortunate enough to have performances by Alexandra Socha from Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori's Fun Home at the Public Theater and the cast of the Off-off-Broadway hit, Lesbian Love Octagon by Kim Kressal and Will Larche. Aside from these recent gems, queer women rarely see their stories in musical theatre. This community is hungry to be on stage, and LezCab gives them their chance to shine, while also giving women a chance to meet other women with similar interests. And LezCab is not just for the ladies! People of all genders and sexualities are welcome to join the fun.

LezCab is currently produced by Rachel Kunstadt and Teresa Lotz, hosted by Arielle Harding, directed by Rachel Kunstadt and music-directed by Julianne B. Merrill.

The event is for audience members age 21 and above. Tickets are $10 in advance through Eventbrite (http://www.eventbrite.com/e/lezcab-sings-duets-tickets-11960122047?aff=erelexporg), or $12 at the door (cash only).
