Kevin Scott Hall, a long-time mover and shaker in New York's cabaret scene, begins his 20th season of his popular cabaret workshop, That Singing Feeling, with Monday night classes from June 1 through July 13, 2015. (There will be no class on July 6.) Two showcases follow at The Duplex, Sunday, July 19 (4:30 pm), and Tuesday, July 21 (7:00 pm). Classes are limited to six participants.

Hall himself performed regularly in cabaret rooms in New York and in other cities from 1988 until 2004. During that time, he also made three recordings. New Light Dawning, his first CD, received national airplay.

In recent years, Hall has been a correspondent and cabaret columnist for Edge Media Network, published nationally. In addition to profiling local artists, he has interviewed A-listers such as Dionne Warwick, Bebe Neuwirth, Betty Buckley, Joan Collins, Tommy Tune, Brooke Shields, and many more. He also served on the prestigious Bistro Awards Committee from 2011-2015 and wrote many reviews for their site.

Since 2006, Hall has taught in the Theater Department at City College of New York, and in the English Department at Borough of Manhattan Community College. He has published a novel, Off the Charts! (a satire of the music business), and an acclaimed memoir, A Quarter Inch from My Heart.

Musical direction for the summer cabaret workshop will be led by Kenneth Gartman.
