Karen Oberlin and Steve Ross bring you, for one night only, CHEEK TO CHEEK: THE SONGS OF ASTAIRE AND ROGERS one week from tonight on Wednesday, June 11th at 7pm at 54 Below.

Two award-winning cabaret and concert performers, Karen Oberlin ("Beyond having a lovely voice, poise and interpretive insight... Ms. Oberlin has impeccable style and musical intelligence." New York Times) and Steve Ross (dubbed by the same newspaper "the Crown Prince of cabaret") join formidable forces in a new show entitled "CHEEK TO CHEEK - The Songs of Astaire and Rogers".

Steve's esteemed and celebrated show I WON'T DANCE: The Songs of Fred Astaire had a five-month Off-Broadway run at the York Theatre and was subsequently presented at Pizza On The Park in London, the Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel and on tour in the USA and on the high seas aboard the QEII.

Karen's tribute to Ginger Rogers was presented for Ginger's centennial celebration, at the opening of Boston University's Museum's exhibition of Ginger's most treasured possessions. The sold-out concert was presented by Angela Lansbury and Nick Clooney. Since that special event, Karen's Ginger has been in search of the perfect Fred... the opportunity to combine forces with Steve Ross was irresistible. Who wouldn't want to celebrate in song the most beloved team in celluloid history?

Steve and Karen will include duets and solos from their ten films, in which were introduced many of the greatest songs by the Golden Age masters: the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Dorothy Fields, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer and others, The audience will be treated to "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off," "A Fine Romance," "A Foggy Day" "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "The Way You Look Tonight," as well as songs they sang alone and with other partners - such as Ginger's "We're In the Money," and "Embraceable You" which turned her into an overnight star (choreographed by none other than Fred Astaire!) and Fred's "Night and Day" and "Something's Gotta Give."

All of the great songwriters couldn't wait to write for this incomparable pair and Karen Oberlin and Steve Ross bring this glorious music to ebullient life. CHEEK TO CHEEK: The Songs of Astaire and Rogers evokes the style, smarts and sass that have kept Fred and Ginger known, loved and admired since their first film appearance in "Flying Down to Rio" more than 80 years ago.
