She won a Tony Award for her performance of the waif Eponine in LES MISERABLES on Broadway. Now songstress Frances Ruffelle will return to New York's 54 Below next month in an outrageously playful cabaret show, Beneath the Dress.

Beneath the Dress marks Frances' return to 54 Below after a sold-out premiere engagement in May. Back by popular demand, she'll appear Monday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 18 at 9:30 p.m.

Audiences worldwide know and love Frances' voice from the original recordings of LES MISERABLES and Beneath the Dress gives fans a great opportunity to meet the real vibrancy and humor of Ruffelle.

"It certainly reveals more of the real me than anything I've ever done," she says. "The songs are inspired by people I admire, situations with which I associate and women who just love to entertain."

Entertain, Frances does. Her voice has been described by one critic as "pure magic" and in performance, "she doesn't just use the stage, she crushes it under her high heels."

As well as recording four solo albums, Frances has worked extensively in the West End. She received raves for her leading roles in Chicago, Starlight Express, Pippin, Children of Eden, and most recently as Piaf in Piaf.

Frances has made hundreds of critically acclaimed cabaret appearances throughout Europe and the US. Her many television and film credits include a fun cameo in the movie version of LES MISERABLES and leading roles in the In Lost Forgotten Fields & Devil's Tower pictures.

Born in London, Frances is part of a show business family. Her mother is Sylvia Young, the founder of a prestigious London theatre school where Frances trained. Her daughter is singer Eliza Doolittle.

54 Below is located at 254 W.54th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenues. For tickets, reservations and club information please call: 646-476-3551 or visit: www.54below.com or www.ticketweb.com. The show has a $35 (bar seating) or $45 (table seating) cover with a $25 food and drink minimum.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, is the new performance venue in the grand tradition of New York City nightlife. A few blocks from the heart of Times Square and just below the legendary Studio 54, 54 BELOW is a classically designed state-of-the art nightclub in the theatre district that hosts audiences with warmth and style. The venue provides a food and beverage menu from early evening through the wee hours of the morning that is worthy of the world-class entertainment on the stage. In their description of 54 BELOW, The New York Times writes "the club has the intimacy of a large living room with unimpeded views and impeccable sound; there is not a bad seat. Its sultry after-hours ambience is enhanced by brocade-patterned wall panels planted with orange-shaded lanterns. And the atmosphere is warmer and sexier than in Manhattan's other major supper clubs
