David Davila, the zany, not-so-hip-hipster from South Texas will make his 54 Below debut on November 18th when he debuts songs from his upcoming musical, VOX POP: a musical revolution. He's previously played sold-out concerts of his work at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, the Triad, the Underground, and The West End Lounge, and the Intar Theatre.

In a dystopian future where bees are extinct and humans slaves must pollinate the crops, a young slave girl must choose to accept her circumstances or join the revolution to overturn her oppressive government. But when she suddenly becomes the key to an ancient religion's "Vox Pop" prophecy, the lines between good and evil, truth and lies blur as endless war becomes the only way to ensure every person's voice is heard.

The musical, which features the songs "Be The Change," "Closer," "Normal Heart," "All Good Things," "Propaganda," "The Voice of the People" and others, has a book, music and lyrics by David Davila based on a story developed by Davila and Mark Andrew Garner.

The concert will feature Michael McCorry Rose (Wicked), Daniel Quadrino (Newsies), Desi Oakley (Evita), Brian Charles Rooney (Bed Bugs), Jaime Cepero (SMASH), Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked), Brandon Ellis (Once), Caitlyn Caughell (Newsies), Dana Costello (Jeckyll and Hyde), Cicily Daniels (Porgy and Bess), N'Kenge (Motown), Charles Barksdale (Sister Act), Ben Roseberry (Guys and Dolls), Jose Sepulveda (Altar Boys), Darryl Williams (Smokey Joe's Cafe), Lindsay Hicks, Mariela Flor Olivo, Vanessa Theus, Brendan Daugherty, Stephanie Nash, Michelle Caniglia, and Michael Muenchow.

Directed by Jay Levy with musical direction by Jeremy Robin Lyons. VOX POP: the concert is Tuesday, Nov 18th at 9:30pm at 54 Below -- located at 254 W 54th St in the historic Studio 54 building.Tickets are available at: www.54below.com/vox-pop-the-musical/.
