A self described 'good Presbyterian woman', drag singer/songwriter Candy Samples entertains audiences each month at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre with her show, Candy on the Keys.

With the 'Queen of the Bears' on piano and her collaborator Jesse Sklar on guitar, the two interpret an acoustic evening of the tunes folks in NYC have come to love over the years (as found on Candy's recordings available on iTunes & Amazon.com). Through laughter, tears and a sweet southern accent, this Georgia native tells her unique story through her array of musical styles. Whether it be an homage to the church potlucks of yesteryear ("Green Bean Casserole"), song of self-acceptance ("Man Behind the Curtain") or love for the bear community ("Bear Season"/"Queen of the Bears"), Candy has the touch to satisfy her audiences and keep them coming back for more.

Candy also wows the crowds with her songs of community service, notably her song of service to the HIV/AIDS organizations throughout the country in her tune, "I Walk". Her May 10 show will feature information about her upcoming AIDS Walk, wherein Candy will be marching along with her fundraising fans, The CandyWrappers. Folks won't want to miss this show!

Candy on the Keys runs tonight, May 10 and Saturday, June 14 at 7PM at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street (@ 7th Avenue) in Greenwich Village. Tickets are $15 and there is a two-drink minimum. Reservations can be made by calling (212) 255-5438 or going online at www.samplemycandy.com.

Candy Samples can be found on her free iTunes podcast, "The Candy Show", or on her various recordings (EPs; "Sample This!" & "Sample That!", and singles "Sweet Scandal", "Bear Season", "A Beary Candy Christmas" and "Queen of the Bears").
