Broadway's Morgan James will bring to 54 Below her smoky and soulful renditions of songs from her debut CD "Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Ninan Simone", as well as a sampling of tunes you've not yet heard from her, including Motown tunes (an ode to her next stint on Broadway this spring!) and a glimpse of her upcoming studio album, on January 12, 2013 at 11 p.m. (doors at 10 p.m.).

James is fast becoming one of the most sought-after multi-genre vocalists in the country. Recently seen in the Broadway revival of Godspell (who could forget her sultry rendition of Turn Back, O Man?), 2013 will see Morgan playing Teena Marie, Doris Day and others in the new Broadway show, Motown: The Musical.

Her debut recording on Epic Records, Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone, offers up a selection of songs that show off her extraordinary voice and exquisite gift for merging soul, jazz and R&B in a fresh and thrilling new way.
