Broadway at Birdland Hosts First UKE NIGHT! to Benefit Daniel Barden Family Fund Tonight

The Broadway at Birdland concert series will present the very first UKE NIGHT! tonight, April 15 at 7pm, featuring Ukulele performances by Broadway performers Marc Kudisch, Howard McGillin, Nancy Anderson, Clarke Thorell, Lauren Molina, Jason Poole and others. The evening will be hosted by Jeffry Denman. Proceeds will go towards The Daniel Barden Family Fund. Daniel was one of the children lost in the Sandy Hook Tragedy.

UKE NIGHT! will be an evening completely dedicated to the "Jumpin Flea" - the Ukulele. These Broadway stars will delve into the history of the uke starting with its Hawaiian origins and its explosion in the US in the 1920's all the way to its current pop music resurgence. UKE NIGHT! will be an eclectic mix of traditional Hawaiian, American Songbook, Broadway, Rock, Contemporary and original songs featuring some of Broadways biggest stars playing their ukuleles.

The UKE NIGHT! cast will include Marc Kudisch (9 to 5, Assassins, The Holiday Guys), Howard McGillin (Phantom of the Opera, Kiss of the Spiderwoman), Jeffry Denman (White Christmas, YANK, The Holiday Guys), Clarke Thorell (Annie, Hairspray), Nancy Anderson (Olivier Nominee - Kiss Me Kate, Far From Heaven), Lauren Molina (The Skivvies, Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages), Jason Poole (The Accidental Hawaiian Crooner, Grease), Erin Denman (42nd Street), Kimberly Kaye (Theatermania) Brittney Bertier, and Rachel Yucht.
